We of course cannot wait to learn more about Matty but it's interesting and a whole different take on a Marvel show!

The damage to NYC they are referring to is from the battle with the Chitauri in the first Avengers movie.

2024-05-27 16:09:08 +0000 UTCMr. October, you said they didn't really explain the car accident that blinded him, but they did at the beginning, but right when the one guy was telling others that the kid pushed him outta the way of the car and saved his life, Mr. October was looking away and doing something out of camera site and Mrs. October was paying attention to what you were doing/saying so you missed that one quick explainer that Matt pushed an older guy outta the way of the runaway car. They didn't verbally say everything, but watching it again, you see all the visuals of what happened. Old guy at the wheel of the crashed car getting helped out by others, maybe just old or maybe intoxicated. He'd hit the truck carrying hazardous waste and Matty saved someone from being hit but got some of that waste splashed in his face from one of the barrels that fell off. Not much more complicated than that. So, you got the main gist. I figured you guys would like this show. It's a good show that shows off one of Marvel's most popular street-level heroes. And you were right about the "DD" nickname. Some have called him that in the comics, mainly 'cause his costume in the comics has DD on its chest.

Anything that starts with the phrase " I think in the next episode you see...." or " I think you meet... in ep 3" is a spoiler. I understand you are probably excited for the start of this series and ill admit these are small spoilers, but the fact remains, ALL reaction channels consider that spoilers are completely unacceptable in any form as people are spending their hard earned cash on genuine first time reactions. Please be more aware of spoilers in your comments in the future.

In the comics he is a very lame villian who wears like a opera cape and glides and was one of DD's villians in the early days. I like the more serious grounded approach to him in this series. I think in the next episode you see his dad going into a match with "Crusher" Creel. This guys becomes the Absorbing Man in the comics. This whole Nexflix universe was deemed cannon by Marvel Studios and going forward, you will see these actors return in their roles in the MCU. A Daredevil Disney + series is being filmed right now with all the character returnin. I think you meet the big bad in EP 3. I think you will like him. He is like a street level Loki and is very popular. Oh yeah, he will eventually get the iconic red devil uniform before the end of the series!

He would also do the same not just with all of Marvel Netflix but also with some of the recent Marvel Studios shows as well as a few of the X-Men films. Ever since, other streaming services gradually started doing the same.
