Batman Begins (2005) Reaction

when you asked who played Joker and went "ja ja ja ja" i assumed you were gonna say Jack Nicholson. But then you said Jim Carrey and i laughed at you.

Chris Riordan

Batman Beyond..

"What is your superpower? I'm Rich."

Yeah, Heath Ledger didn't die by suicide, he legitimately accidentally OD'd on a combo of prescription meds. Jim Carrey played Riddler and his portrayal was eerie as shit to me as a kid as well 😅. Please watch Batman Forever, just to get them real haters! 😂 As someone said, Batman is the darkest hero, besides some obscure marvel storylines. Y'all need to watch every HISHE either after you finish both franchises or from the ones made where you are in your journey. 😂. That could definitely go on a second channel. My strongest nostalgia, enthusiasm, and opinions revolve around Batman and Gotham City Lore (more than X-Men or GoT), so imma really try to contain myself and just excuse me as we continue on 🤭😅.

Lady Stoneheart (Uncat)

You clearly never watched the 60s TV series then though 😂

Lady Stoneheart (Uncat)

Random fact: the Lamborghini Bruce Wayne drives is a Murcielago. Which translates to “bat” from Italian.

Haven't watched this in years and man now I remember how unbelievably epic it is. IMO its easily the greatest origin story ever told. The Dark Knight gets all the praise because of Heath Ledger but this is the best batman movie Also as far as order of DC stuff goes it is much more chaotic and less clear than Marvel. This is a stand alone trilogy nothing to do with any of the DCEU stuff you mentioned at the end. There is also a stand alone Joker movie with a sequel coming out now which is by far the darkest movie in this genre, and they just spun off a new separate Batman movie a year ago that was pretty good and getting a sequel. When you're ready to start the DCEU timeline similar to Marvel it begins with Man of Steel (2013) and goes for like 15 movies and a couple hbo series. The DCEU is now over and is being rebooted by Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn and is being called the DCU now but that wont start until 2025 sometime.

Christian

Yoooo let's go! This trilogy is up there for the best trilogy of all time with LOTR for me. These movies are all great.

Teej

yes but only 3, 4, 76, & New Vegas, 1 & 2 are just hearsay to us so if it references that we won't know tooo much

Mr. October

Really excited for your Fallout-reactions! The show was truly a surprise hit! It's phenomenal! Did you play, or are you familiar with, the games?

McC

👋 hey 👋 you guys should have started with the original batman first with Micheal Keaton 😉 😎 😀 😜 😄 😏, than work your way up to the recent batman 😉.

Also, for The Dark Knight Rachel’s character was recast. So there will be a different actress as Rachel in the next movie.

Caleb

Batman is a dark character but the reason this movie was so dark is because of the last Batman movie before this. Batman & Robin, it was too many jokes and had a humorous tone. It’s probably the worst superhero movie ever and it ruined Batman’s live action reputation until this movie came out.

Caleb

Christian Bale is an intense actor. There are many films I'd recommend, but his debut movie, "Empire of the Sun" is special to me.

Jim Schmitz

Thanks! FYI Ledger didn't kill himself on purpose

Victatchewan

One must see is the first Wonder Woman...

Peter K

Same, I was also 13!

Kale

man i havent seen this one in a minute perfect time for a rewatch with yall! honestly the acting in this trilogy is probably some of the best of any superhero franchise out there

Megan Burland

dr crane is the scarecrow, one of the villians of batman. His poison makes u see your biggest fear. a cool comic fact, he used it on the joker at one point, and the joker just laughed and said that it wouldnt work on him, basically showing the joker had no fears. i love the scarecrow in the comics, hes creepy, much like dr strange's villian, nightmare.

Phil Tilly

YESSS LETS GO!

Mr. October

yeah, for some reason I was not sure which universe superman is from, but I will learn to!

Mr. October

thanks for sharing that! honestly what a good film! <3

Mr. October

This is one of my favorite superhero movies of all time. I remember seeing it in the theater with my dad. He died almost 14 years ago and I always think of him when I watch it. Also, there's a lot of father-son dynamic in this movie, so it's bittersweet for me. Glad to watch it with you guys today.

Matthew Bailey

yeah I would more say they are co captains lol alongside Wonder Woman

Jonny

As for DC stories, they tend to be a bit darker in tone than Marvel except for some the Xmen stuff in the comics. Those can be brutal. And this trilogy is separate and apart from the DCEU. My suggestion would be watch this trilogy, and then Patreon can help decide what next re DC movies.

Jonny

Great reaction guys. And just to add some trivia to flesh out your knowledge. Jonathan Crane aka Scarecrow is one of Batman's biggest villains. In the comics, his backstory is especially sad and brutal. They somewhat minimized how dangerous this guy can be in the movie, but its understandable considering what they were going for. The same for Ra's Al Ghul. Major major villain of Batman.

Jonny

Ok, I'm ready for you guys to get to Daredevil now. Marvel's dark, gritty, street level hero. It's a bit lighter than this, but has really brutal elements. Please watch Netflix's Daredevil season 1 before watching Hawkeye or She-Hulk.

DarrellWaller

The interesting thing about Batman as a superhero character is that his power comes not from physical or supernatural strength, but from a combination of his willpower, intellect and the fortune of his parents (both wealth but also their legacy/compassion). He's also got the moniker of "The greatest detective" in the DC Universe, which doesn't really come out so much in the Nolan movies, but which the newer 2022 movie does better. That said the best depiction of Batman outside of the comics, is arguably either the animated show or the Arkham games which are based on the show, and which has probably the best Joker ever in Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker from Star Wars).

AzraRillian

Was trying to rejoin the Patreon for hours. Somehow it didnt autorenew like usual. And then the app actually prevented me from searching for you guys. Said 503 service error. Don't know what's that about. Anyway lemme check out the reaction to one of my favourite movies.

Jonny

Mrs October : Batman is the captain of DC Superman: i know im not from here, but… 😅

Flexorcist

lol. J...J....Jack Nichol....no Jim Carrey! Surprise!

Kenneth thomas

13 year old me thought this was the best movie ever…until the sequel came out. Cant wait for The Dark Knight.

Caleb

Jim Carey played the Riddler, not the Joker 😂

Adrian Rhodes

SO hyped to rewatch this trilogy! I know Dark Knight is everyone’s favorite, but for me Batman Begins is the one I love the most. It’s such an amazing Batman story. His character growth in this film is so well written. It feels like a complete journey by the end. And the way they use FEAR as a major theme throughout the whole movie is just perfect.
