I loved all your reactions to the x-men movies guys. The reason Mystique is a good guy now is because in days of future past when they sent Logan back in time it changed the future. She will stay a hero now.

He wants to take the one safe place mutants have to be themselves without the hateful gaze of humans and bring humans there permanently. As always, I side with Magneto and Mystique, they are the only ones not just looking out for the mutants but actively putting their safety and rights first, while Charles continues to prioritize those who persecute and attack his kind.

The only history that might be kinda off is Mystic. They made Jennifer Lawrence the captain America of the xmen universe because she was a very popular actress during this time. Mystic is badass but some of the things she did in this u inverse is questionable because they wanted Lawrence to be standout.

2024-03-01 00:22:24 +0000 UTCQuicksilver wasn't slowing or freezing time, we were just seeing the action normally occur, but from his fast paced perspective of being able to get ahead of it, if that makes sense? Most people don't like this movie explicitly because of how Apocalypse went out, he's supposed to be the ultimate threat and a recurring one at that, but with movies, they want to have one off villains for some reason. They take many liberties with cinematic adaptations, so if something is shown a certain way, it probably occurred slightly, if not significantly different in the og material, so I wouldn't rely on just these movies to understand the universe. I'm pretty sure Magneto wasn't referring to human nature in general, he was referencing it specifically in relation to marginalizing injustices. Magneto and Charles are supposed to mirror MLK Jr. and Malcom X, and their conflicting approaches to fighting against bigoted, and oppressive systems. The fact that they are both discriminated against by society under the same prejudice matters in context. Magneto has an added layer of marginalizing and "othering" experience, through his Jewish heritage, an intersectionality, that informs his approach to be more totalitarian, much like Malcolm X and his Islamic faith, but I can understand why this direct allegory to bigotry and injustices might be harder to see for some. X-Men was a way to talk about racism and bigotry at a time when such discussion or activism was heavily censored or manipulated in media (pretty much same as it ever was).

Oscar Issac did fantastic as Apocalypse, and the rest of the cast did great with what they were given. Next up Logan, you are in for a ride. Wandavision soon, I hope.

The dog with the pizza still gets me every time haha. There is a movie called Dark Phoenix and as much as I am a major Marvel fanboy, i'll never rewatch that one on my own. It really is that bad. I am excited for y'alls reaction to Logan (first) and Deadpool 2 (second) for sure. Both are amazing movies. I would like to make a suggestion though for when you watch Wandavision. Start with a single episode (the first one) and either continue watching them 1 by 1 or watch them in batches of 2 afterwards. But the first episode has to be watched as a singular episode. Because it will bring everybody so much joy hearing and seeing you guys speculate on what the hell is going on haha. Also, you mentioned that you like to introduce your son to marvel. Well there is an 90's x-men cartoon that might be really fun for y'all to watch with him. Especially since its gonna get new episodes soon! Called X-men '97. Now those you might wanna watch for the channel, idk. I haven't seen them obviously so I have no idea where they will fit in to all of this, other than what has been speculated. 2024-02-29 18:43:20 +0000 UTCWanda and Quicksilver first appeared in Xmen #4. They were a part of his "Brotherhood of Evil Mutants". Magneto was the leader and Toad (from X1) was there. Shortly after, Wanda, Quicksilver and Hawkeye joined Captain America over in the Avengers title to become the new Avenger team. Wanda and Pietro (Fox just calls him Peter) were long time members of the Avengers, not the Xmen. Because of this , Fox and Marvel were allowed to share the characters on screen. Notice how there wasn't a mention of Wanda in these Fox movies? Age of Ultron came out before Days of Future Past and Apocalypse but Marvel killed their Quicksilver and Fox picked the ball up and ran with it. Both versions are good but I still consider the Marvel version as canon and not this guy (Evan Peters). I know I

Tbh dark Phoenix isn't so great but idk yall make even bad movies fun to watch because you guys aren't hung up on movie to comic character accuracy and stuff like that yall are just along for the ride I think that helps a ton. I always thought X men last stand was hot garbage but yall watched it and only saw it for the fun it was which really changed my opinion on it! Logan and Deadpool 2 will be a good time I'm excited for those.

One story may contradict another, especially when you get into the multiverse and the "other Earths" and "other timelines". Looking back after this movie at the other X-Men movies you can kind of get that feel, and it seems true to the comic origins of the X-Men. Apocalypse really captures that genre and is really good from the standpoint of feeling like a graphic novel or collection of comics covering one storyline. Wish that even more of the many many X-Men characters were portrayed in these films to date, but who knows maybe more are coming with new films of their own. Y'all still have a few more X-Men movies to go and we are so here for it. Let's go!

Sure there is Dark Phoenix, but as I've said before and I think most others will agree with me, it's straight to DVD garbage that isn't worth watching, although, I know you will want to. Logan is good. It's time to get to WandaVision, guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
