X-Men 3: The Last Stand (2006)

What a journey this is! Having a lot of fun :)

X-Men 3: The Last Stand (2006)

Comments

Logan had an inappropriate infatuation with a woman who was in a long term relationship with someone else, that is not the same loss that Scott feels for the woman he has loved for a very long time! I love Bobby, but his decision to go and comfort Kitty after Charle's funeral instead oh his girlfriend was hella douchy! As if Kitty was the only one upset by his death, his priority should have been his girl, who he didnt even think of until later the next day. People need to stop taking the word of characters as gospel. Without any real testing, those doctors really thought that a "cure" they created from the blood of a mutant with the power to temporarily deactivate another mutant's power would be permanent.

Lucile Byrd

fuckin loved this, yall had me cracking up for all three movies, what a great time! 🤟🏽

TokyoLopez

She got those powers from holding onto Carol Danvers for too long. It put Carol into a coma for years and Rogue got super strength and the ability to fly permanently. This Rogue was, obviously, before she encountered Carol.

Thadman

I like the lights and the look of your place. It's not too much at all. when I started the video, I went "Ooh."

Thadman

Rogue is actually strong as hell. She not only can take powers, she can fly, and has super strength like the hulk. These movies just nerfed her.

james moore

If there’s any movie that should be skipped, it should be the 2013 Wolverine movie, not the 2009 Origins movie. Think you guys got the bad movies mixed up lol. The Wolverine movie against the Japanese dude is the bad one.

imperial

I think Deadpool is before future pass

asia roberson

X-Men origins wolverine than first class

asia roberson

You can't skip that

asia roberson

This is the best order in the comments. You can start working WandaVision after Days of Future Past and before Deadpool. A sprint to Deadpool and start WV would be sick. You can let the editors catch up and lure more people into patreon to jump ahead. Keep up the good work.

Check out Chronicle (2012).

You'd really have to read the comics to understand the complexity of any mutants powers and abilities. There is so much more than any of the reboots will show. Even these epic storylines have so much more to them that they just cannot put in a film or even film series. And if you really do wanna do all this analyzing, to avoid movie spoilers, after you watch most of them, there are plenty of rabbit holes you can go down for days to answer a lot of these worldbuilding and character conflicts and musings. All your questions can be answered if you have time to hyperfixate for a bit on a Reddit sub lmaoo. It's also good to remember that most of these films were made for comic book fans, so there are a lot of easter eggs and storyline replications that really only fans familiar with the characters and storylines would recognize or get a kick out of. Like the Phoenix force flying over the water in X2, or Ice man going full level in X3. Those are nods directly to the source material for the super geeks. We know who Moira McTaggert is so they don't do a lot of explaining ... until the first class reboots, where they try to pull in Gen Z with more detailed explanation. I don't know if that makes sense, but it wasn't until the Avengers series that they tried to meet all audiences and not just do majority fan service. But all in all it was EPIC for longtime and diehard fans to see these characters and storylines adapted to screen. This is long as hell, but hopefully not totally pointless to have shared.

Lady Stoneheart (Uncat)

I agree with this comment, lots of good suggestions for mixing it up without spoiling anything and the order sounds great to me!

ShittyShittyGameGang

Are they going to give us the Rogue we deserve as well?

Lady Stoneheart (Uncat)

And storylines like Dark Phoenix Saga.

Lady Stoneheart (Uncat)

Jean & Wanda are definitely stronger than thanos. With or without the stone. Jean has this entity inside of her called the dark phoenix. It takes control of her as well as her mind and just brings destruction & choas . Wanda is also magnetos daughter . They won’t tell you this in the movies but they will somewhat refer to it.

Tayshawn Williams

sooo cool!

Mr. October

working on that! we were supposed to right when we moved and it slipped! i'm gonna send you address when we do! thanks for being thoughtful and so so kind for that

Mr. October

Do you have a P.O. Box? I have some Marvel movies and shows saved on my computer. I can put X-Men Days of Future Past the Rogue cut and the Netflix show Daredevil on a thumbdrive and send it to you. Then you don't have to deal with internet or a thumbnail spoiling anything.

Becky White

Fun fact: The man mowing his lawn in the beginning right before the Stan Lee cameo is Chris Claremont. As others have mentioned in the comments he was a writer at Marvel comics in the 70’s & 80’s and is the creator of many of the most popular and beloved X-Men/Mutant characters and comics.

CheshireKat528

I'm with Darrell. A sprinkling of MCU among the X-men franchise viewings, and don't forget Gandalf, please.

Jim Schmitz

great fun reliving these xmen films!

Michael Taylor

You guys please have to do X-men days of future past the rogue cut. Rogue was cut from the theatrical release. their were 2 different versions

Gio Bellisario

thanks jim 😊 i appreciate you for always giving us the feedback

Mr. October

I find the new look delightful. It's subtle and warm. You call out MCU for not dealing with superpowered characters' actions and their affects. Don't forget "C-A, Civil War" and the Sokovia Accords.

Jim Schmitz

Let’s go I manifested this before opening up Patreon

Gio Bellisario

In the original story line from the Chris Claremont Xmen comics from the 1970s/80s, the Phoenix was a separate alien entity that merged with Jean to save her life, which they changed to separate versions of herself in the movie. It's been a long time since I read those stories, but in the original story she became more than a mutant, she was a symbiote, kind of like Venom.

Peter K

I wouldn't say it was "bad," objectively speaking. It has great information about Logan's origins, but a lot of comic readers had issues, mostly, with how certain characters were represented. I could say more but don't want to spoil for those who haven't seen it & want to. I personally think the hate it gets is way outsized for what it was. There are later movies in the franchise I dislike more.

Thadman

absolutely helps! thanks for that so much

Mr. October

Nah First Class introduces who we see in Days of Future Past. That's a whole story missed if they skipped that. It really is just one extra movie

Jonny

So in the comics, there are omega level mutants or class 5 of which Jean Grey is one as well as Wanda. But Jean Grey Phoenix would quite easily defeat Wanda just to show the extent of her powers. Two very powerful characters but Wanda has a limit...The Phoenix doesn't. In terms of the others who are class 5, that would Ice Man for example and Legion (Professor X's son), Magneto and Storm Anyway X Men First Class next please.

Jonny

Is it bad?

JSM -Tac

In the beginning when Charles was teaching the class. He played a video about a man that was unconscious and if it was ethical to transfer a persons consciousness to a different body. The lady in the video he played was the doctor at the end credit, he said the video came from a “friend”. He transferred his consciousness to that man’s body.

HypeVision

If you wanted to mix it up, but still watch Marvel then watching the first Venom now is completely fine and won’t spoil anything. There are also other pre-MCU Marvel movies that you might enjoy and could use to mix it up. The Blade Trilogy is awesome and the first Marvel movie to be rated “R” and be a box office success. There is also a couple of Fantastic Four movies and a handful of others if you’re interested. If you really want to deep dive, there is the very first theatrical released Marvel movie “Howard the Duck” from 1986 It’s also never to early to start the Daredevil series. Here is the release/watch order list for the Fox X-Verse: X-Men (2000)✅ X2: X-Men United (2003)✅ X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)✅ X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) X-Men: First Class (2011) The Wolverine (2013) X-Men: Days of Future Past, The Rouge Cut if available (2014) Deadpool (2016) X-Men: Apocalypse (2016) Logan (2017) Deadpool 2 (2018) X-Men: Dark Phoenix (2019) New Mutants (2020) Hope this helps!

CheshireKat528

Guys, I feel like we know and respect each other by now. I really feel like the only other Xmen movie you have to watch before Wandavision is Days of Future Past. You can go backtrack and watch the other X movies afterwards, and Deadpool too, but You really need to get back into the MCU and start Phase 4 soon.

DarrellWaller

It is referenced later on in other movies, so it will help them understand those scenes better. Plus, it’s almost a rite of passage for Marvel fans, we all had to brave it 😜 and thanks to a certain “mouth” we get some great references later on.

CheshireKat528

Also, the lady doctor is Moria McTaggert in the post credits scene and she was on a video call with Charles when he was teaching the class about the moral implications of psychic transference.

CheshireKat528

X-men origins Wolverine is in fact next, if they’re brave enough to do so lol

Alex Gonzalez

“He’s prolly just a beast” Ding Ding, that is in fact Beast, aka Hank McCoy

Alex Gonzalez

Magneto: "I'm....." Wolverine: "One of them?" Mr October: "About to work at Lowes." 🤣🤣🤣

Holmes1245

I skipped that on purpose lol

Poncho Williams

Arent we supposed to forget that one?

Jens B

Don’t forget X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)

imperial

Why do you look like that kid who can change channels by blinking lol

Tj Fabela

After this one is X-Men First Class(2011) Then the Wolverine(2013) Then X-Men Days of Future Past(2014) X-Men Apocalypse(2016)

Poncho Williams

2006. Marvel Studios was being formed and the wheels were set in motion for Robert Downey Jr. to play Iron Man in a movie to be released in 2008. Even the MCU takes liberties with what happened in the comics, but Fox really screwed the pooch with their "Fox Men". Cyclops was always the focal point and leader of the Xmen and they just killed him off in this. SMH. The "Dark Phoenix" saga was over a year long storyline in the comics as Jean started acting more and more quirky, until the phoenix took control and she lost her shit and got to almost godlike level. One of the greatest comic storylines of all time running from Xmen #129- 137. It ended with the death of Jean Grey in one of the most heartbreaking moments in Marvel comics. Since then, Marvel comics screwed the pooch by bringing her back and milking the Dark Phoenix over and over and over until it just tainted the original story. Fox did the Phoenix story 3 yes 3 times!!!! They still didn't get it right. (big sigh......) Now that Disney (and Marvel ) own the rights back from Fox, we are all waiting paitently to see if the MCU can do the Xmen justice and give us a good Cyclops as leader and make it more true to the comics. We shall see.

DarrellWaller

Okay, you just watched the X-Men Trilogy. After this, they did a soft reboot of the X-Men franchise, and the next four films are a tetralogy. In Between these, there are “spin-off” franchises, the Wolverine Trilogy and the Deadpool Trilogy. Deadpool is still ongoing with the 3rd one being released this July in theaters. So you won’t get any payoffs from the ending & post credit of The Last Stand cuz they rebooted the franchise. But to explain the last part, Xavier discussed the moral implications of a psychic transferring themselves into another person earlier in the movie and that’s what he did right before Jean evaporated his ass. He did it in the comics too. Hope this helps!
