Spider-Man (2002) Reaction

A hero can save us... we're not gonna stand here and waittttttttttttt....
Sorry ya'll Mrs O couldn't help herself.
This was for the 9-9's and the 2000's... the fact that this and LOTR came out in the same year tells me that this was a good year.
Yes we have mentioned we have both seen this at 10 years old, does that even count? Some of us didn't even wear deodorant yet!
If you enjoyed the Nickelback video at the end let us know bc that means we love you.

Enjoy! We will be doing all the Spider-Mans or Spider-Men or Spider-Manz(?) before Phase 4. We know, we are listening!
Thanks for the support ya'll!
Great reaction guys. MJ was not Peters first girlfriend originally in the comics Betty Brant the Secretary was his first girlfriend but his first love was Gwen Stacy. I can’t wait to see your reactions to all the Spider Man movies. Spider Man is one of my favorite heroes.

Bro/girl code is a bunch of BS, especially when there was never actually a relationship! Peter may have liked MJ longer, but it was clear that Harry also had a thing for her but in HS he continued to try and prompt Peter man up and talk to her, but he never did. MJ is not Peter's property! No Bro Code applies when your friend not only never dated the girl but never even talked to her. However, if there is a legitimate bro code, it goes into effect when Harry and MJ start dating that should have stopped Peter from trying to finally make his move after finding out his best friend is dating her! I side with Harry here, Peter is a shit friend and MJ is straight up trifling for the way she treats Harry.
And as for the Thanksgiving dinner scene, everyone can clearly hear the conversation, meaning they can hear Harry trying to defend MJ to Norman while Norman barely lets him get a word in and then just closes the elevator and leaves while Harry is still talking. So to then confront and criticize Harry when he is clearly upset and emotionally beat up by his dad is insensitive of MJ and then when he snaps (which is human) they all just gang up on Harry to defend MJ! Throughout the entire love triangle dynamic with them in this movie, Harry is the only one who did nothing wrong, while MJ cheated on Harry with Spiderman and Peter, and Peter was a shitty friend snaking Harry's girl as both Spiderman and Peter Parker!

Uncle Ben and Aunt May were the heart of this trilogy. I hate that the MCU makes it seem like Uncle Ben doesn’t even exist. OG Aunt May has some of the most heartfelt emotional lines during the entire trilogy (especially her Hero speech in Part 2). I never got that feeling from the new “cool/hot Aunt May”. I think this was a huge mistake by the MCU.

Oh, totally! And while I would love to see you both react to all the other Spider-Man movies, I mostly just want to make sure you guys watch them (whether they be on Patreon/YouTube or not), just so that you can properly enjoy the MCU journey….
Because, in my personal experience, the only thing that came close to as satisfying as witnessing Avengers: Infinity War & Avengers: Endgame was properly watching Spider-Man: No Way Home with everything that also built up to it. And I wouldn’t want you both to miss out on that ☺️.

Yasss!!! Keep ‘em comin’! You’ve got *six* weeks until No Way Home (not counting the Disney+ series that start in Phase 4, which…I have no idea how you guys plan on coordinating that, because some of the later Phase 4 film releases do pre-suppose you are caught up on the series…).
But, that being said, you still have *four* more Spider-Man movies to catch up on (not counting MCU Phase 3’s culminate Spider-Man: Far From Home, which should be watched in release order like you’ve already been doing).
So…that’s FOUR more Spider-Man movies (Spider-Man 2, Spider-Man 3, The Amazing Spider-Man, and The Amazing Spider-Man 2) to fit into the next SIX weeks of MCU movies (Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Black Widow, Shang-Chi, and The Eternals).
I just implore you to be mindful of that, because Spider-Man: No Way Home cannot be enjoyed, appreciated, or even worth watching if you’re not fully caught up on all the past Sony-released Spider-Man movies (watching Venom & Venom: Let There be Carnage as well wouldn’t kill you either, but let’s not even get into that, lol…).
Also…The less you know about the plot and spoilers for No Way Home, the better. So, if there’s anything you don’t already know about it, do your best to try and keep it that way. It’s arguably the next best “event” film that comes after Avengers: Endgame 🤫🥰

Yessss excited to revisit these movies with you guys. This is the Spider-Man I grew up with. Tobey Maguire will forever be the GOAT. And that Nickelback song is still one of my favorites, the music video is so sick!
