Scream 3 is definitely more slapstick and pays homage to another equally popular horror franchise. I enjoyed Scream (5) - it was definitely a love letter to the original and mostly Wes Craven. Some plot point elements of it are weak and predictable but it does a great job of introducing the term "requels" (reboot/sequel) with a new generation of characters while fully embracing legacy characters front and center. Each film has a definite set of rules and theme to it with the social commentary on said-theme and its tropes. My personal ranking of the series would be: 1, 4, 2, 5, 6 & 3 but each film is pretty solid.

2023-08-06 16:58:43 +0000 UTCThese movies had a direction in mind, and seem to really mail it. I have heard so many times that scream three is more of a comedy. I am so excited to watch it because so many people have been so opinionated about that movie. Do you think scream five was good?

I will say that Scream 3 is generally considered the weakest of the entire franchise but is still a good film in the series of what was originally supposed to be the conclusion of the Scream trilogy. But after an 11 year gap, Scream 4 goes back to basics and is a pretty amazing film. To me, it's on par with Scream 2 (IMO). Sadly, Scream 4 did not do well at the box office, Wes Craven later died and it was another 11 year gap before we got Scream (5) just last year.
