Next batch of sketches! I've been experimenting with a new way to quickly blob in character volumes for these, with the lasso fill tool. You've seen me do it in other sketches in like time lapses etc, but it's a great way to get the broad strokes of a panel in before going over it with the essential details like expression etc. It saves time too, so hopefully i can gain some time this way.

Got the control rig """set up""" hopefully. I should give her a couple expressions and a driver to flip through them. I need to look up how to switch between IK and FK rigs (do i need to make a second control rig, that's just a clone of the deform mesh? i dunno)

Aurora rig

Just something i've been messing with in my spare time. It's not perfect but it moves decently well. It's just the mesh and deform rig at this point, i'm watching vids and figuring out how to set up the control rig, and like, fk/ik switches, but it's at the point it's new territory for me.

Alright! The comic itself is now visually happening~ Thanks for bearing with, during the pre-production phase. It's essential to make a good comic.

The thumbnails once again are like too detailed, so i'm gonna do an ultra quick simple pass through the book so i can actually thumbnail properly for once. I keep saying im gonna do it, and then i just sketch the whole book lol.

Ptail 09 - The Food's On You - Concept Art

The script is finalized and seems like it'll be rad! I sat down to do some character-honing on Seth, Jonah's snubboko buddy, that co-stars in the comic. It'll be 18 pages, and snubboko's design needed the slight revisit i've been giving some of the older creatures.

I also had to learn how snake works, and it's actually pretty weird. Only one normal lung? Weird muscles in the mouth that hook into the skull, the separate parts of the lowe...

I figured it was time for another promo pic for my game, so here's a Violet. She mostly warps you from level to level and handles checkpoints. She's usually found laying around under the Puzzle Seal, until you go over to pick a level.

These promo pics i do for my art audience have actually been pretty helpful in spreading the word and getting wishlists, and it's really fun to draw the characters, so it's a win win.

Welcome back, 2026 is here~

Back from break, hope you all had a great end of 2025!

I got some work on the story done, went through editing, and im in the 'descriptions per panel' phase atm. Gonna be on it for the rest of the night. It's looking like it'll be 16 pages? So not a massive time investment this time.

Sketching the comic out should begin on the 19th. Sketch suggestions and the poll going up tomorrow, time to get back on the grind.
