Hi Patrons, and it's the usual 'weekly report' for the supporters of the Pepper&Carrot project. It's already the number 15. :-)
( Note : Patreon website received an update and I can't post my 'weekly' message as I did before, I need to use another dialog. I just hope you'll receive the message as usual , if not better. ).
★ Weekly bonus ★
It's a big picture made with shuffled panels from future episode 9 ( shuffled, to not spoil the story ) , the paintings are not finished but the episode is taking shapes.
Episode 9 is still a long one, with many characters and places and I'm very near to get a beta-version to send to translators.
✥ Painting technique report :
Making a new episode with a new painting technique is a real challenge, and it's the case for episode 9. Last week, I painted probably 80h with a method I tested so far only on single illustrations or concept art. Testing it around 30 panels of comics reveals the technique has definitely pros but also cons. I'm learning how to handle it, because I like the rendering and the flexibility it offers to push the artworks to what I have in mind. I'm also taking notes for publishing a future big tutorials about this new approach. I'll publish it as soon as I'll feel a bit more comfortable and confident with it. To sum-up it a bit ; it's an approach based on silhouettes and lighting. It's built around the core skill of 'edges' and 'lighting'.
