Hi Patrons, and here is a fresh "weekly news n°12" after the release of the episode 8 few days ago. ★ This week bonus ★ I join to this post the full black and white version of episode 8 with a bit of cleaning to be easier to read ( I removed my composition guides, perspective line as I could, and construction lines as volumes, skeletons, etc... ) . This version is a mix of sketch done on paper and direct digital drawing with Krita. During the last week of production , everything was painted-over, and I think I 'll try for the next one to 'not draw' it first. In fact, the less the panel were planned, the easiest it was to speed-paint then paint details later. ✥ Episode 9 preproduction : I'm right now on writing script. Why the three other witch were not at the birthday party ? ...address missing on invitation ? bad weather ? illness ? or they simply refused ? Many possibilities, and I'll try to surprise you. But you'll probably guess during next week 'weekly' when I'll show sketches, work-in-progress artwork about episode 9. :-) I'll try to go 'full painting' on future episode 9, using Krita from scratch and a painting technique based on 'silhouettes and edges' ( you can find a work-in-progress of this technique in the older weekly, the one from 13 may, painting Coriander ) . I'm also scouting here and there to upgrade my skill and see if there is new technologies or filter effect I should adopt and insert while it's possible in the next episode script. So, I'm experimenting with Gmic, Blender, etc... I'm planning a new tutorial for the end of week. ✥ Translations : Pepper&Carrot episode 8 received twelve translation at release time. An amazing work from all translator. 'Esperanto' is the new language added this week with ep01 and ep02 already online. I'll merge the other one this week. ✥ Pepper&Carrot font project : A new repository is born https://github.com/Deevad/peppercarrot_fonts ; a new place to manage all the font files used on Pepper&Carrot, and edit them. I started to learn fontforge , a free and open-source software to edit font files. I was motivated to help fixing the default font 'Lavi' used in Pepper&Carrot ,and add new symbols, for Polish, for Esperanto, and soon for Breton and Hungarian. Fonts creation/edition is a complex world, but fascinating at the same time. Thanks to all the authors of the 15 fonts used on multilingual Pepper&Carrot. ✥ Various news/links : - Pepper&Carrot was featured on imgur frontpage thanks to the work of Kezzix.
