[SERIES FINALE] #MUTED - chapter 08 part 14

And thus, things are coming full circle, back to where Jasper and Kai stood face to face for the very first time so long ago, just much closer now in the present. 💜

It's been a long journey, one I never expected to happen like this.... as I've told you before, in 2017 #MUTED was intended to be a maximum 70 pages oneshot to test the webcomic waters. I had experience doing fan comics but I didn't know how I'd fare with original stories, so this one was going to be my short term experiment before I commited to one of the longer stories I had been working on for years.

I quickly learned that original comics need more than 70 pages if there's an actual story I want to tell, because I have to establish the characters and world myself.  For fanbooks that was never the case, the audience for those stories already knew the setting and the protagonists, I just had to play theater with them! 

In hindsight I'm glad I wasn't aware of the actual workload that was coming at me, I wonder if I would have been too intimidated to even start this comic, haha.

It has been a surprise to see how much people resonated with Jasper, Kai and their story, and I feel very lucky that I had the audience's, as well as the comic platforms' support all these years and was able to work on and finish my first original series!

Now it's time to kinda say goodbye, but not really, because I still have a spicy special comic planned, as well as some outtakes, and I want to continue drawing the #MUTED cast in the future too, include them in my little 3D projects, too, etc. 

And of course volume 3 is yet to be released, tho that will be a while from now ^^); There's also still the desire to print an artbook for #MUTED, a collection of art and sketches from 2017-2022, to have the entire journey neatly packed into one (probably limited edition) book. 

I have also been working with someone to bring another little #MUTED thingy alive, but since that's still kind of up in the air I won't say too much about it yet, I will believe this is happening when I actually see the end result XD

All that's to say you can rest assured, I won't abandon #MUTED right away! I will, however, be taking a small break from the webcomic routine for a little bit, to explore other ways of creating, partly in preparation for other comics, partly out of a desire to be able to make cool things with my OCs outside of just drawing them! So please look forward to that, too.

I'll talk more in depth about my plans from now on in a separate post very soon!

For now, I'll wait until the feeling of having finished a very long project starts setting in O _O) My brain is very slow when it comes to these things.
