tl;dr Ubuntu Kylin is a weird GTK/Qt hybrid with few redeeming qualities when compared to contemporaries such as Deepin.
Between the networking issues and poor styling, I don't really even see a point in Ubuntu Kylin at all besides maintaining Ubuntu compatibility. Deepin 20 is superior in almost every way.
I'm being significantly more critical here on Patreon than I was in the episode but I am glad I reviewed it. I will say that the Kylin Assistant app is pretty darn cool.
This episode was bittersweet because it reminded me why I stopped making regular Distro Delves episodes.
They are fun to produce but after doing live streams, regular episodes seem a little pointless and they eat up a lot of my time.
I have a 2-hour window in the mornings when I can record a voice-over so I have to rush and there's very little time for mistakes.
I'm not happy with this episode's voice-over but I just don't have the time to polish up voice-overs anymore.
A big part of it is that I've outgrown my workspace. My work desk is against a wall with a bathroom and plumbing so if somebody showers or even uses the sink, it cuts into the recording bad and I usually don't hear it until I edit.
Anyway, I'm glad I produced this episode and hopefully, it will remind people that Distro Delves feature episodes are still a thing even though they aren't as frequent as they were before!
