No more Arch Distro Delves episodes
Added 2020-05-29 03:26:43 +0000 UTCNow that the Zen Installer episode is done, I don't plan to revisit Arch for the remainder of season 2.
For season 3, I could see revisiting the Zen Installer again just to flex on the detractors but for now, I'm really not interested in the toxicity that the Arch community brings with it.
I'm undecided whether I want to cover Arch-based distros on the show since there is always a group of people that complain about how the distro isn't "pure Arch", as if that means anything.
Distro Delves is an unusual series because it appeals to the "everyman" rather than technical or experienced Linux users. The vast majority of the negative comments I see on videos are from people who are too dense to understand what the series is about.
I've been working on a website and landing page for the show for a few weeks and you can see the WIP website here. I'm probably going to roll it in to the newly designed Egee.io website rather than keep it separate.
At this point, I'm just burning down the backlog of requests on the Distro Delves repo (the Zen installer was one of these) until I can make the finale episode, which I'm super excited about!

I watch all your videos and I understand your point of view, but what I didn't like about this particular video, it's that you approached it using a custom installer. That was the trigger. E.g., your Distro Delve about Manjaro was great, Endeavour too. Yes, there will be always nerds calling out: "Endeavour sucks, use pure arch" etc, but the point is that those distros are separate projects. In my opinion, that's what I would do in your place, if fanboys asked about an Arch Distro Delve: 1) boot to live iso 2) There it is guys, this is official arch. Done. Trolling level never seen before :) Keep it up.
