Ubuntu 20.04 - It's OK

Ubuntu 20.04 LTS is OK.

That pretty much sums up my feelings about it.

As you guys probably know, I wasn't planning to release this video until a week or so from now, after I produced a few other videos. I've been getting comments on videos, community posts, and on Twitter about reviewing Ubuntu so, I decided to just do it while people were still interested in it.

Some interesting trivia about this video is that I produced it in about 12 hours. From recording the footage to the voice-over, editing, and even writing this post was all about 12 hours from start to finish.

In retrospect, I wish I had given myself a bit more time for the voice over. I don't love it but it's really hard to hit the right tone or mood I'm aiming for in review videos.

The tone I have in this video is what I'm aiming for but it's difficult to sound like that when I need to focus on what is happening in the video at a given section.

Overall, I recommend Pop_OS over Ubuntu. At this point, Pop_OS is basically Ubuntu++. The only thing I don't like about Pop is the Pop Shop, but you'll have to wait for the review to hear more about that 😉

Not sure if you can hear it but the tone & cadence of my voice changes depending on how many times I've repeated the same line. I repeated the "But, for everyone else" line probably 10 to 15 times before I settled on the one you hear in the video.

Varying tones and/or even moods isn't a bad thing, it gives a sense of realism to your videos rather than just sounding like you're reading off a script.
