I hope 2020 has been treating all of you well so far :) πππ
I took the first week of the decade off to recharge my batteries, but honestly I don't quite feel ready to get back into the fray yet haha;;;;;
The first couple of days away from work I felt a little antsy and nervous about taking time off and once I finally got into proper sloth mode it was almost time to get back to work π What these few amazingly lazy and relaxing days taught me is that I need to do this more often and get rid of this strange bad feeling of being unproductive when actually just doing nothing on occasion is super healthy and good. I spent most of the time in bed with my dog, playing Breath of the Wild and I have absolutely no regrets. It was also nice to just spend time doing chores and cooking meals slowly, taking long walks with Fynni without thinking I gotta get back and do things!! constantly. Another reminder for me to take things a little more slowly and be more mindful even while doing mundane everyday tasks.
I've had these thoughts a year ago already when I got knocked out by my hardcore bronchitis-whatever situation but I fell back into tornadoing pretty fast afterwards, it's an unfortunate character trait πππ
Anyway.
My plan was to get back to working on #muted episodes pretty much immediately, which was a bad, unrealistic idea and brought with it a good portion of grief OTL After not drawing anything for like 10 days I'm completely lost and will have to take a few days to find my footing again. Hence what you see up there in the image! Doodling on the computer was an absolute nightmare, so I grabbed my trusty sketchbook instead and started sketching around.
I've been a little unhappy with various parts of my art for months but didn't really take the time to figure out what exactly is bothering me. After my short break the dissatisfaction hit me even harder and I decided it's now or never π€π€ Since I have to get used to drawing again anyway, might as well do it right and investigate my issues and maybe learn a thing or two.
I did some studies so far, explored some different variations for side profiles, face shapes etc. and I'm planning to work on things bit by bit to hopefully come out the other end with new skills that will make my work just a liiiittle bit better :')
So far it's all very messy and kinda embarrassing to look at but I will make sure to share everything with you once I've had my share of artsploration! There will be a few notes included as well on my thought process and what I'm actually going for or trying to change/improve. Could be interesting for you guys maybe π€
Of course I also have an episode planned for this month, it's one I've been looking forward to for a while now so stay tuned for that : D
Okay, I talked a lot now, it's late already and it's time to call it a day soon and maybe play a bit more Botw before I sleep :'))))
