SEPTEMBER SKETCHES

finally, the monthly sketch PDF is back! 

unfortunately, i didn't draw ANYTHING outside comic pages all through august, so i have nothing else to show for that month :( the only thing i could do is show you all 67 pages in their sketched stage if that'd be interesting to anyone to compare to the finished pages ahah. let me know and i'll do it!

now onto the actual sketches! you might see some of the motives return for inktober or the next MUTED update btw :D

one of the first things i've drawn after taking that week off. i guess the few 70+hrs weeks had taken their toll after all and i just couldn't get myself to draw digitally at all, so i ended up doing a lot of traditional doodling! i still haven't posted the finished piece to this, i need to do that soon because i quite like the result :3

i downloaded a few new brushes, i'm still mostly looking for good pencil-like brushes as i like working with those the most. but they'll almost always look terribly scratchy when zoomed in, so that's a shame :( i had some reference pictures for the sketches up here! nothing fancy, just trying to get back in the flow.

quick doodle of the gw2 husbands!! because i mentioned my main's butt looks fantastic in his new armour and my friend (who plays the husband 2.0) replied like trahearne up there!!

a request draft that got scrapped! but i might use it for something else in the future :D again, gw2 with trahearne on the left and my friend's character on the right!

kai sketches!! i drew those preparing mentally and emotionally for the upcoming pages. you will see some of these reappear on the actual pages.

i have a very clear idea of how i want to tell his side of the story, using the water analogy but i'm also prone to not getting to the point and getting caught up in details that in the end won't matter. so after the first insight into his psyche according to his own internal words, the chapter will end, and i will have to finally sit down and properly plan how i want to proceed.
because, after all, there's not only his, but also jasper's story to tell. and i wanna do it right ; _;)

i'll be talking a lot about that story-writing process here! and hopefully, when those next pages are out, i can talk about things less vaguely than before because more information will be out in the open.

you've seen a lot of those for inktober already :') i decided to make things easier for me this year and sketch them out digitally, make use of the printer i got this year instead of letting the ink dry out again and ruin the entire machine, print them out and then ink them traditionally. no prompts, just me wanting my children to look gorgeous, a little sad at times and also share a lot of hugs and kisses 😚
