i actually did some doodles to warm up today! i haven't done this in WEEKS, i'll usually jump RIGHT into work as soon as i start drawing, which is a terrible habit that i need to get rid off again. sketching random things is so so good and helpful, i'm not sure how to explain it but when i take the time to just doodle around i will have an easier time facing things i don't like about my art and things i want to improve. there's no pressure in sketchy files like the one above, i can experiment freely, screw up as much as i want to and then move on because there are no expectations for this particular file to turn into anything worthwhile.
also, if i hadn't decided to do a warm-up today, we wouldn't have gotten the melodramatic jasper on the bottom left and what a loss that would have been!!

YEA exactly!! i have an entire sketchbook dedicated to messing up, i will only draw in there with ballpoint pen, no pencil, no eraser, it's my place to allow mistakes to be a thing and a way to get out the bad art or to just draw pages full of lines when I'm stuck and can't draw properly. it's such a good stress relief 🙏

I create better things after that and it's sooooo nice to be able to mess up and not stress over it. X3 I love these! I hope you get to do them more often. Melodramatic Jasper has a special place in my art lol!!
