I wasn't super successful. Also, I have bad news about the white Solo coming next week...
Side note: If you notice the white balance kind of being all over the place, it's because I got a new camera right before starting this video.
I just sent you a link to an Electra 007 with 12,000 miles on it and the original paperwork in messages

I only saw 3 of the 4 rear brake lights lit.

What a lovely display of a tolerance stacking problem somewhere high up in the supply chain.

This sounds about right, and he does mention putting in an aftermarket fuel pump too.

I've no idea how to fix the Fiat, but whoever designed the oil filter is an idiot.

The one with the fuel starvation and leaky carb smells like overpressure from the fuel pump to me. Too much pressure, overpowers the valve in the carb, floods the engine causing the problem.

yeah, but the fuel flow he had when he syphoned the tank was really good, so I'd rule that out as a candidate.

What sprang to my mind is maybe the tank breather is plugged? That would give a random-ish time before the fuel pump is failing to suck fuel out of the tank. Simple check is just to open the fuel tank when it stalled.

Glad to see some project debt tackled! Ticking things off the list really does help the motivation eh? Excited to see whats next

I'm so happy to see the Trebant seat fixed again. I've been waiting for this for five years.

Your Robin seems to have 4 brake lights?
2 of them were probably meant to be Fog lights, so that would be putting double the current through that Lucas switch. (still only 7A, so should be fine)
I presume 1 set has twin filament bulbs? The 5W would be the normal rear lights and 21W the original brake lights.
The set with a single filament 21W bulb will be the set intended as rear Fog lamps. It's a legal requirement to have at least 1 in the UK. Often you'd get a single reverse lamp on one side and the fog lamp in the same position on the other side, for a budget assymetrical look. Having twin reverse and twin Fog lamps is the sign of a classy car.
I believe you don't go in for such things as Fog Lamps in the US, so wiring them up as extra brake lights seems reasonable?

Maybe you could add a charger or booster connection cable to the Solo's 12v battery that's accessible when it's locked?
It's common practice on motorcycles, where batteries can be hard to reach.
Thanks for another superb video.
I've also @#£&ed my back, but all I've been doing is sitting on the sofa with my dogs watching YouTube.
I already have a Flexispot desk (possibly the first sponsor you've had that's available in Europe?) but might now get a second as a work bench!

And here I was feeling good about finally changing the oil in my daily driver.

glad to see you being mindful not to re-injure your back (brilliant segue into the sponsorship, btw). as someone with a couple persistent injuries from 15-20 years ago, i can empathize.
keep taking care of yourself, Robert—and best wishes for continued recovery!

Adding more blinker fluid might prevent the Solo's blinker stalk from getting loose! All kidding aside, great video and nice to see updates on more of the fleet. We enjoy watching you troubleshoot problems like this. (Hope your back is getting better.)

My next thought of things to try is to rig up an external gravity feed tank to see if it's any part of fuel delivery related problem

Is there a difference between the driver and passenger seats in the Trabant or did you put them like that because you wanted to?

I have the distinct feeling that the fiat has a fuel pressure issue. like the pump works too well or that the tank gets warm and pushes fuel. You *can* in some cases overcome the needle in a carb and come out the bowl vent. you might want to look into trying to put a restricted fuel return to see if that helps.
