I usually buy the batteries with tabs already spot welded on (since I'm constantly putting off building one from the stack of parts here). Soldering isn't great for batteries, a lot of heat applied to them can damage cells, and regular battery tabs/springs have a lot of contact resistance. There are fancy push-fit battery pack kits, but I've only seen those for 18650 size cells, these are bigger (e.g. https://electrek.co/2018/04/17/diy-li-ion-battery/).
