You guys on board for a massive text post? good. hehe

So, what have I done in the last 2 weeks?

Well, I actually had my room re-painted, cleared out a bunch of junk and prepped some space for a half year from now when I possibly purchase an upgrade for my PC and a desperate desk upgrade too. It's all done and clean now so I am pretty comfortable with it.

There's been a bunch of typical life stuff along with it and prep for a European friend of mine to visit in the next month.

The reason I bring these things up is to give a more substantive thanks for what this Patreon has been doing for my life, I have a phone contract, gym membership, monthly rent and selection of expenses, that being stuff like equipment and cinema tickets with the bonus of staying alive.

Patreon is now covering every monthly expense I have, you have no idea how encouraging that is, I can save now, save to pick up a top notch rig. At that point I can render and edit so much faster that real, permanent differences can be made.

And that's all because of you guys, I know that this should be of no surprise but I just like to get it said because it's bloody true. Now, on to the work update.

In the wake of the Infinity War video, I am still blown away by how much I managed to touch some hearts in that analysis, not to mention that it is a guarantee for future movie coverage.

So I have been working up a brief list of future films to cover and I figure that I should get one Rage/Praise per 2 months at most, cause they take about 2 weeks at max to make and I can pause my big projects in the mean time.

Speaking of which, how about I give you guys a bit of an insight into my process;

I did a full redraft of the current script of The Force Awakens critique and MY GOD, I have found so many topics to explore its almost criminal.

I know that when I release it, i'm going to get the whole "stop covering an old topic" or whatever but i'm looking forward to what you guys are gonna think about the points I bring to the table about the film and about writing in general :D it's a really fun script so far but there's more work to do.

I have not completed the redraft and as I have combed through each of the 60K words, correcting mistakes, fleshing out arguments and fixing it all up, it's been boosted to 72K and believe me its gonna get bigger.

My process involves this element that during the redraft I pull open 2 more word docs, in one I line up all the patterns i'm spotting as we progress, for example, the biggest one for the Force Awakens is "Convenience" which I am sure you're all aware of but there's a ton more.

In the second doc I note all of the important moments in plot or character for the ending analysis, this time around tho, since I have been scripting this for so long;

I had a third doc and I basically put all notes in there that pertained to things I had missed as I went through my own script, insights and plot points that I felt could offer more substance and had neglected to include.

Now, I am nearing the end of the redraft but I have 3 chunky word docs to inject into that script once again. This, for 1 is why my scripts take so long to create but 2, it's all a part of my process, this is how I do my work, it's like placing all the scaffold for a house to then meticulously place each of the pieces in, until I get what I wanted to make.

I am confident that this will be some of my best work, it's not rushed, and it's being redrafted MANY times with loads of additional information.

BUT

Once that is all slotted in and sorted out, leaving me with a completed script.........that's when stage 3 comes in;

I check out as many reviews of the film (I usually go with 30) as I can to see what I may have missed and what arguments are presented that counter my own.

So, I watch them, all 30, including hour long stuff like the Plinkett videos, then that gets converted into a word doc of notes with suggestions of where I should bleed them into my script.

THEN

I check out production stuff, so basically every interview and statement made about the film from the cast and crew and commentators. that's where I am looking for things that bolster claims I have already made, or spit in their faces, either way it is useful information and I try to include it.

After both of THOSE word docs are created I then inject them, then redraft and then give a shot at reading it out loud to see how it flows for Pt. 1 and then give it a real recording to go to editing.

That is what I am looking at and that is how I created the SOMA series, the Dark Souls 2 series and The Last Jedi series, only I feel I may have rushed The Last Jedi critique tbh, there are many things I failed to cover in that series of videos that now pop up in this one heheh.

The point is that i'm sad to tell you that I am simply not ready yet, but hopefully you can see why. The script is at 72K, as it stands that's six and a half hours of dialogue for me, so things are being made but it's simply not ready.

On top of that, Han Solo is now releasing. And I will be giving one of my hyperbolic reviews for that film, from what I have heard, it isn't very good. Then a week after I finish that, i'm dealing with Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

Some of you may not know this, but I adore Jurassic Park, it's a brilliant film. but the second, third and fourth are kinda garbage from my perspective. And if I had this channel's clout when Jurassic World released, I would have made a video.

So I will be for this coming mistake of a movie. Point here being;

I want to cover Han Solo, then Jurassic World and then cover Han Solo in depth and THEN finish what i have been working on with The Force Awakens.

This is mainly due to the fact that i love discussing film and I will happily use any film for it, combine that with my audiences love for Star Wars then I think it makes sense to start with Solo and the faster I complete the project, the more ears I can reach.

What this means is that The Force Awakens script will be worked on whenever the other projects aren't hanging around. Once Han Solo is done and dusted, it will be full steam ahead, but then, once that's all done, I might actually be able to cover a game.

I know so many of you are waiting for that, and i'm sorry this takes so long but i'm hoping this post explains that a little bit.

I am seeing Han Solo tomorrow and I should hopefully work around the clock to get a video sorted in one weeks time, fully edited and crisp.

if you guys have any questions, don't hesitate to ask down below;

OH! The Q and A video will be released as soon as I get some free time, I am holding on to the questions and I don't want to half-ass the video, I promise it will come!

Bloody hell, I have so much to do.

Thank you all for your patience and I shall be seeing yah soon :)

Yesterday I binged your entire RE: "In Defense of Dark Souls 2" series and was blown away at the amount of effort that was put into it. Never have I seen a more complete response to a video. Keep up the good work!

I've listened to your three-part critique of The Last Jedi almost daily since I've discovered it, I listen to it through my earbuds while I'm working, it seems to help calm the daily rage I feel over what lucasfilm has done to the Star Wars franchise. Thank you and keep up the good work

Respect πŸ‘πŸ»

My whole channel began with hating on daily rushed content, with creators replacing their eyes with dollar signs. I am blown away by the support you guys have given me here so I will keep on doing what I started with; Take my time and release some had hitting long form detailed content, with as much editing as I can pull off :) As for making more money, I think it may happen with the videos i'm making anyway, I am super motivated. I appreciate that you want more stuff though, I shall be getting it out soon!#

Have you considered doing some SW live stream YouTube videos? Or publish daily SW videos? It seems like a gold rush out there right now. Geeks and gamers, comic book pro secrets, world-class BS, etc. are cranking out videos constantly and doing live YouTube stuff. It seems that the response is very positive. People are making regular live donations and their subscriber count is climbing fast! Do you have any interest in getting in on some of that action? We think you’re one of the best YouTubers out there and would love to be consuming daily content from you.

I will be swearing in my rage video but the full assessment, if I manage to pull that off, will be rid of them ;]

I CANNOT wait for your Solo analysis! My whole family watched your three part series on the last Jedi during a 17 Hour road trip. It was AMAZING. Thanks for making it family friendly so even the kids could learn from it and enjoy it. Everyone was riveted the whole time and we couldn’t tear ourselves away.

I really enjoy your content on films and video games. It's very illuminating when trying to understand my own opinions about the subject and it has sharpened my own analysis methods. So thanks for that.

Don't worry what other say. You do cover of what you want. We know you think out the things thoroughly and that is a guarantee that the result will be fun. And take your time when doing your stuff. We are a patient crowd. Are you spinning up your new drive for Solo? ;D ps. You're putting a lot into this. I'm happy to be a patron. :)

Very cool to read about your process. The effort definitely shows in your work. Can’t wait for your upcoming vids!

Woah, that's an insane amount of work! Not that I'm really surprised given the excellence of your content. I for one am happy to wait for such quality. May the OT force be with you.

You realize a standard novel is between 60k-80k words, right? You're basically writing a novel and then turning it into an audiobook. lol.

You the Zabrak, MauLer. Keep up good work, yo
