Kid Sensation: The Big (Familial) Reveal
Added 2024-03-23 00:32:00 +0000 UTCFor fans of the Kid Sensation series, Jim’s family dynamic has been a bit of a slow reveal (e.g., it’s eventually come to light that he has an uncle, cousins, etc.). However, it hasn’t just been readers who’ve slowly been made privy to these facts; it’s also other characters in the books – Electra, Smokey, and so on. Basically, it’s been like peeling off the layers of an onion.
That said, the world at large is still mostly in the dark about Kid Sensation in terms of familial relationships. Roughly all that’s known is that Avis is his cousin. However, when Capri talks to Alpha Prime about Jim, she mentions rumors about him having a girlfriend, a fiancée, and more. It suggests that he’s not as anonymous or incognito as he thinks.
Long story short, Kid Sensation’s family connections – although not necessarily his identity – will probably come to light sooner rather than later. The question is whether to continue with gradually lifting the curtain on the facts or just rip the band-aid off. Although you’d think that as the author I’d have an idea of which way things were leaning, the truth (as I’ve often stated before) is that the story tells itself and I pretty much just take dictation. Nevertheless, I feel like we’re getting closer to that point.
