The Electra Question
Added 2020-12-25 02:57:37 +0000 UTCWell, it's Christmas Eve, and I honestly expected to have posted well before now. Unfortunately, with everything that goes hand-in-hand with the holidays - shopping, etc. - I fell behind. (Believe it or not, one of my kids came to me just moments ago and asked if I could order something online for them - in time for Christmas, no less!)
Anyway, I'm hard at work on Warden (Book 4), which is the next item in the queue. However, I'm still getting bombarded with thoughts about future Kid Sensation titles. One of the things I'm going to do in the next book is offer a little clarity about Jim and Electra's relationship.
In short, I'm sure it feels to some like Electra is trying to have her cake and eat it, too. She seems to want something more than a friendship with Jim, but at the same time doesn't appear to want the boyfriend/girlfriend dynamic. Truth be told, there's a reason she's acting this way. It's a bit of a big deal, so I'm worried about revealing it here (spoilers, you know).
That said, here's something I think I can share: in the next book, Jim gets visited by a heretofore unmentioned relative from the Fleodin Demesne. They arrive to sorta, kinda give him a birthday present. (It's not as straightforward as that, but - although not exceptionally complicated - is probably more than I can explain in a few sentences.)
Now that I think about it, the next book will have a couple of fun interactions. Of course, that's probably not unexpected with the good guys and bad guys working side by side. I just hope readers will enjoy it.
