The Shape of Things to Come

With any luck I'll finish Conjuration (Kid Sensation #9) soon and move on to the next book, which I anticipate will be Warden #4. Of course, I'm slightly behind on KS#9, but on an overall basis I think I'm on track to produce a decent number of books this year.
My plan right now, while things are going good, is to produce as much as possible and stuff the pipeline. That way, even if things slow down in the future (which always happens), I'll have books in the queue just waiting for me to hit "Publish."
Hopefully I'm not being over-ambitious. On my best day, I've written approximately 17,500 words. (I think Mrs. Wonderful and the kids were out of town then, so there were minimal distractions.) That's a brutal pace, but if I could maintain it I could probably produce a new book every 4 days, assuming 70K words per book. Needless to say, I don't anticipate that happening. Most writers will burn out trying to produce that much on a daily basis for an indefinite period.
That said, I think I can produce a healthy amount of material each day, but we'll find out. (Keep your fingers crossed...)
