2025-08-18 23:57:33 +0000 UTCRegarding the guy wanting to snitch on the airplane mechanic… I used to work as a manufacturing engineer at one of the largest jet engine design/manufacturing companies (think engines for military aircraft, large commercial airliners, etc.). Up until the mid 90’s or so, the company served beer at the on-campus cafeteria. This was to prevent employees from wasting time to get lunch off-campus. The union would issue two drink tickets to all mechanics, but there was a trading system, so some guys would have 3, 4, 5 beers at lunch - and then go back to building jet engines. I don’t think this is a leading or best practice, but there’s precedent for this kind of behavior. And the caller that is trying to snitch on his friend’s friend should check himself.
