2025-04-29 16:29:57 +0000 UTCtruck driver here, not sure how to write in so this will have to do. truckers do work over time. there’s a saying in the industry that goes “the only job where you work 70 and get paid for 40”. we do have hours of service laws. 11 hours a day driving, 14 for on duty time a day , and 70 per 7 day cycle. i have personally only ever seen a lot lizard at one truck stop and it was in west memphis. i mostly stay in the midwest tho so not as many high crime areas. qt is a gas station chain in the midwest that recently started expanding as well as opening truck stops. blau was right about rather having an auto blow on the truck. i’ve brought girlfriends before and they mostly complain. lastly, i spend my entire day watching podcasts, movies, and listen to music. only way to kill the time.
