Growing up in Gainesville, Florida, I had many friends that were crust-punk- anarchist adjacent. They’d often fuck each other in the big friend group, I avoided that because I’m queer and, at least at that time, the dudes were all cis-straight. Anyways, it sounds like Suzi trying to break off from seeing this guy would mean breaking off from a lot of the friend group who probably fuck him too, and are possibly also in polycules with him. This is just speculation, but I wouldn’t be surprised, knowing Asheville as well. As for therapists making batshit decisions, my mom is a big therapist in Florida and she’s a drunk, pill addict, and has raging Borderline that she won’t get a therapist for. She saw the same psychiatrist for decades who kept prescribing copious amounts of Ambien/xyrem and Xanax buses like they did in the 90’s/early 2000’s. All that to say that therapists aren’t always capable of using their expertise in their own lives’.
