No what Stav said about knowing your priors and pushing through if your initial reaction to a new situation is panic or fear or a general sense of unsafety…. Reminding yourself that you’re fine, you’re okay, and that you can continue to feel safe even in a new unfamiliar situation…… it reminds me of what I’ve been working on in therapy. Knowing the difference between an unhealthy sprain and a healthy stretch. Sometimes new situations are meant to help you grow in a new direction. Sometimes you’re meant to work those new muscles — gently and safely. And sometimes it’s just an unsafe situation. Knowing the difference is half the battle. my man Stavvy did that therapy right. Good ass advice

We’ve had maybe 10 nights in a year and a half that were totally painless. I love how sure she is that everyone is in the same boat as her only they suck (in a universal sense, maybe she’s right). That made me laugh so hard. She reminds of my wife, only as yet un-humbled.
