2025-10-31 17:12:19 +0000 UTCThe decline of theatrical comedy movies have already been talked to death, the causes are pretty straightforward. -The MCU causing the explosion of action-comedies -The increased importance of the international market where verbal jokes don't always translate -Increases in ticket prices turning audiences away from all of the "biggest" movies, while people assume seeing comedies in theaters doesnt really add anything. -Social media means any topical comedy gets played out within a few weeks
