NEW EPISODE – The Speed Racer Episode

This one has truly been years in the making. This movie comes up so often that a lot of people just Mandela Effected the idea that we've already made a Speed Racer episode. But no! Not until now!
There's so much to get into with this movie I could teach a college course on it, but I tried to cram as much as possible into an hour.
Also: if you haven't seen Speed Racer, I recommend you watch it before this video. There are some spoilers, but mostly it's just so you can experience all these images in the proper context instead of seeing them in pieces in a video essay. You deserve that.

I think I feel the same way about Speed Racer as I do about Moulin Rouge or Enter The Void - I get what it's doing, I can appreciate it on a technical or theoretical level, and I can really enjoy scenes or clips from the movie, but I just can't get into the style enough to enjoy the film as a whole. Are there movies like that for you, Patrick?
