Writing:
Well, we didn’t meet Kerros, but Solana. I always planned on Solana appearing here instead of Kerros. Sorry, not sorry.
Anyway, Solana gave us a lot of food for thought. For those who didn’t act cocky with her: do you believe what she said, or do you think she’s full of shit?
We also have a tense meeting with Lucius again. He’s becoming increasingly irritated about the situation with Nym’Shiral (The Sprite Realm) and is ready to go to war.
But at least this meeting made Atlas and Leyala official. So, we can say the glass is half full, right?
Whether or not you brought Leyala to the meeting determined if Solana advised you of your next step or if you met dear Beta Alessandro. This meeting was also something I enjoyed writing, with all the name dropping and the questions that it raised.
However, questions were also raised for those who took Leyala to meet Solana.
All in all, it was exciting to write two different paths and to have things still make sense afterwards.
Ophelia also dropped the bomb about Lucius. What do you think about her and what she had to say?
I wanted to end the update on a pleasant note, so I put a sweet little date with Leyala, where you can have some clues about who Odysseus was to Atlas, and there have been references to his name a couple of times. Then depending on your choice, you can have a threesome :) :) :)
Technical aspect:
Our first Threesome! Hooray!
Was it a pain in the butt to write so many branches for it? Yes! Will I do it again? I don’t think so!
Maybe I will because I think it’s nice to have a lot of variation in a scene as a player, but it is so hard to animate everything in enough time to meet the deadlines as a developer. I would have never been able to do it if I hadn’t written and coded a lot of the story beforehand. I would love to add more animations and branches during lewd scenes to my game, but I think I will only do that if I have a full-time animator working with me or once I have completed the whole game.
There were several varying branches and paths in this update, which provided a lot of variation in the code. Some of these were obvious, but other parts were more subtle. For the scene in the council chamber, I don’t want to attempt the maths to determine how many unique variations of that scene there were. But approaching it, twelve variations can each be mixed and combined, offering a vast level of variation in the scene. I will let you do the maths lol. These variations made the update much more complex to play-test, but Jay did his best, bless him.
I hope that you liked the update. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know!
Cheers,
Tae
