A Change

Hi guys! After getting a pretty negative response to my video this month, and having it fall vastly short of the view count we typically reach on the channel, it's made me realize that the pace with which we're making videos to meet sponsorship deadlines is no longer sustainable. I want to go back to creating quality work that I feel good about. So I've decided to completely restructure how this channel generates revenue. I know the Patreon has been wildly insufficient for some time now, and I want that to change. So I'm going to start making videos exclusively for the Patreon for the next couple months, and hopefully settle into a rhythm where you guys are getting the best bang for your buck. I want to be more engaged with you all and hear from you about what you would like to see covered on the channel!

NOTE: This may also come with a change to membership structures - I am thinking of merging all memberships to one $5 USD/month tier, and a $10 tier for those mentioned by name in the YT videos!

For the next video, which ideally will be Patreon exclusive and released in mid-June, we were toying with a few ideas:

• Mickey Madison and The Intimacy Coordinator Debate: (would be a historical overview of intimacy coordinators, why they're necessary, but also a discussion around the public's rather paternalistic approach to female actors who opt not to work with them)

• A video about Alex Garland's recent film Warfare, as it pertains to depictions of war in cinema

• maybe a retrospective on Everything Everywhere All At Once? (I have some complicated feelings about the movie as it relates to the attention economy)
