Greetings adventurers!

Majestic and ancient creatures residing deep in the magical woods, I’ve always had a respect for the giant owls and their wizened communities. They live for longer than most anyone and in those years, they gather more knowledge than you or I could ever hope to. They rival even some of the ancient elven scholars in both understanding and magical prowess. While they keep to their own and enjoy their lives away from the bustle of the “modern” world, occasionally they do see fit to bestow a bit of their magic on someone else.

Our patrons get early access to all of these items as well as additional formats that are easily usable in both physical and online play for D&D and Pathfinder 2E. Additionally they get high-res art exports, easy to use text exports, behind the scenes updates, and a lot more.

Something you should know about me is that I love birds of prey. They’re one of my favorite things to study and I love learning more and more about them over the years. Every time I’ve visited an animal sanctuary, or AZA certified zoo, I end up staring at the hawks and owls for way too long. I’ve been wanting to create some giant wizened owl creatures for some time and that’s probably still coming, but the idea of this cloak was just stuck in my head and I wanted to get it out there.
On the 5E version, you can usually lean a bit more into the power of items. This one for example, probably is on the upper level of rare with its abilities offering darkvision as well as expertise on stealth checks while flying. I tried to limit that power a bit by making it a once per day for some of it and giving you an hour to work with so it can’t be the entirety of your adventuring day, but it still works for scouting.
For the Pathfinder 2E side, there’s not a lot of reason to break what works so I pulled the flying information from the fly spell. This cloak essentially gives you a free cast of it every day, but I didn’t want that to be all. One of the cool things in PF2E is the ability to drill down into specific checks and that’s what I did with this. Giving you specifically honed searching and tracking skills lets this serve a niche that it couldn’t if the system didn’t have these specific actions.

You’ll probably see me wanting to make more bird or prey and corvid stuff in the future. They’re just extremely fascinating creatures to me. I often find that nature is a really great place to derive inspiration from. Animals are cool. If you have the means, consider donating time or currency to your local no-kill animal shelter.
