Greetings adventurers!
There are several things I’m not accustomed to working in and wax is certainly one of them. I had been trying my hand at making candle enchantments, when a friend of mine suggested that it wasn’t that my materials were bad, but rather my methods. I sought to change things up and try a new way to reach my end goals of an everburning candle and sure enough I was able to produce it. The problem was, there was just so much wax! Wax everywhere! Well I figured I might as well put it to good use and I just so happened to have this magicked greataxe nearby!
Our patrons get early access to all of these items as well as additional formats that are easily usable in both physical and online play for D&D and Pathfinder 2E. Additionally they get high-res art exports, easy to use text exports, behind the scenes updates, and a lot more.

Design notes from Matthew:
There are items that just develop themselves naturally as I build them out from a single idea and this is one such case. I had to idea of a greataxe dripping with wax. Probably one of the sing songy silly ideas that pops into my head on the regular, but that’s exactly what I wanted to make. It just started to put itself together after that.
The first idea I had with it was the it would make disarming a lot more difficult as it kind of locks your hands to the weapon. For the 5E variant that meant referencing some of the optional DMG rules that are out there on disarming. There are some spells that reference it as well, but I figured just making you immune to it was the most reasonable. On the PF2E side, disarm is a normal action and a +1 item bonus to the save was a natural fit.
The second mechanic was the wax covering an enemy. For the 5E side, we don’t really have multiple use actions so I kept it to a critical effect with a save to balance it out. On the PF2E side, limiting it to once an hour put the right balance in place. After that, I just looked at making a lesser version of the slow spell. Again, I always recommend looking at what is already present and modifying it to your needs.
This is one of those items that really happened to develop itself. I love when I can just come up with a core concept and not have too much of a hard time building it out from there. I think they also make some of the best items as they just flow…like wax.
