Awakener + Haunted Keep Collab with JamesRPGArt & Tom Cartos

At first, I thought the concept ridiculous. Sure there are those that have been capable of turning stone to living being and the like, but these are purpose built constructs given a semblance of life through purpose and magics, but to simply be able to awaken any object, even for a moment, was a concept I thought beyond possible. It turns out that I was wrong. Locked away deep in a keep was the life work of one who tried to bring life to that without it. Through their work, I hold this censer today in front of me. I can’t help but be slightly afraid of it.
Our patrons get early access to all of these items as well as additional formats that are easily usable in both physical and online play for D&D and Pathfinder 2E. Additionally they get high-res art exports, easy to use text exports, behind the scenes updates, and a lot more.

Ah it’s so wonderful getting to work with some of the creators that I really admire in this space. I’m already lucky enough to get to work with Fernando week after week and that’s a fantastical treat in its own right, but it’s always special to me when we get to work with others in the space whose content I actually use in my home games. Tom and James have been folks that I have enjoyed for a long time now and it’s always humbling to be able to work alongside them to make things for our patrons. I hope you enjoy the amazing map and illustration you get along with this one.
Tom had cooked up a story about this keep he was building that housed an ancient and corrupting force that awakened items within it in sinister ways due to a failing of some of the people that inhabited it. James illustrated a fantastic version of this keep and I had this idea in my head that I wanted to show off what a successful attempt at this kind of magic could look like. It was an exciting prospect trying to figure out how to write an awakened item.
For both versions of this, I wanted it to be clear that the awakened item was not to be a combat improvement. This is simply about information and for that, I took a lot of inspiration from the Speak with Stones spell in PF2E, but modified heavily to fit with the idea of speaking with objects. Both versions of this ended up quite similar, which can happen when we’re dealing with roleplay heavy pieces. I’m quite happy with that as it makes it easy to swap back and forth.
