Today I share with you a release from a long time ago, which somehow relates to my previous post in that manner. 2012 was a year of exponential musical transformation for me. Two weeks ago, I shared "A Place to Be Different" from that year, and today I'm sharing "The Way Around."
This one was part of an EP that was uploaded to YouTube by a small group of people who operated under the label name MassiveX (or something of that manner — I don't remember precisely).
Here you can start to hear how new thoughts were being shaped into the music, with a glimpse into the near future — where later, in 2013, I would try to embark on bigger ideas like "Escape to Antesia."
Musically, it also starts to take a larger and larger role here compared to production, as I was beginning to discover more and more things.
I'd say it also sounds more generally structured and organized compared to things from before, and it’s noticeable that there is a bit more control over the craft here.
Actually, the only thing that makes me say it was an EP is a very vague memory and the fact that it was organized under the same folder on my computer, with an EP name and the word EP. Beyond that, I'm not sure if it was ever actually released as one. But either way, I might share more from there soon — if you find it interesting.
As always, happy to hear your thoughts and suggestions.
