LAJ Outtake - Reflexes 70 and Old Artwork

With my recent decision to re-upload some older releases such as my first album (Escape to Antesia), some singles, and the Valse EP (2014), I thought today I’d share with you an outtake from Long Awaited Journey. This sketch was made in September 2017 as one of the attempts to create the final piece that later became Halpfire Harmonies.

In addition, the artwork you see here was the first iteration of the final art, as it was later changed, as you can see. This art was made pretty early in the creation of Long Awaited Journey, and it was changed to the current one a bit more towards the end of its creation.

I hope you’ll find this outtake interesting and that you will enjoy the re-uploads of some of these old releases, which shall start appearing in the following weeks.

Could you spot the things that later made it into Long Awaited Journey?

P.S. I might release more versions of this outtake in the future, as it’s full of iterations created in the process of shaping the finale of LAJ.

Comments

That intro feels very poignant. It's fascinating how much overall gloomier the song feels compared to the more ramping hopeful nature of Halpfire Harmonies. HH feels like you're releasing something of yourself to the world, while this feels like you're releasing something of yourself to a singular person. (btw that bit at 3:57 is crazy good. Detecting some Los Recuerdos in there!)
