Where Ideas Run Around

Some of you might remember that a long time ago, I posted Goya's "Black Paintings" on Instagram without further explanation.

I was doing so while I attempted to "solve" the place that later became "Crimson Summit" in "Lands of Delight". For some time, I was exploring a direction that led to five “dark projects”, I called them "uno dark" to "cinco dark". Each was a variation, yet a new attempt from scratch to approach the same feeling. I looked to the "Black Paintings" for inspiration, but never felt I cracked it.

I was searching for a darker spot within "Lands of Delight", but in the end, it didn’t make sense to me. I felt like it was too much after "Flame Devourer", and went somewhere else.

These days I’m watching "Twin Peaks" for the first time and the feeling it gives me made me want to share some of these with you today.

For now I will share "uno" and "tres" dark with you (with all of their own versions as well), which were the first and third attempts, but I will probably share more in the future.

How many things that ended up in "Lands of Delight" can you spot?

Will you hear more of these places explored further from a more recent point of view in the soundtrack for "ILL"?

So interesting! I am watching Twin Peaks, too and find it very fitting to the atmosphere you create with your music. I wonder how you get inspired by it. Would you say it has an impact on your musical development? I can imagine some scenes with your music in the background.

Oh my god it's the image!! I remember seeing that on your insta story and wondering what it was about. It always had me thinking you were going to be releasing a horror-themed album at the time, which is funny in hindsight with the ideas from this piece potentially convening into the ILL soundtrack now haha
