Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a pleasant holiday season with lots of fun, festivities, and enjoyment.
I've been trying to write this new years post for a couple of days now, but I am having a hard time summing up 2021 in any kind of positive light, or to even articulate my feelings on this past year at all. Not that anything catastrophically -bad- happened, but I think it's just the general state of the world that is leaving me feeling numb and without words (maybe just a long scream into the void). Like a lot of people, I am tired to the point of exhaustion with everything. Just the long stretch of -everything- that is going on in our world that makes me sad, infuriated, frustrated, and in despair.
But I don't want to bum anyone out with my mental malaise, so here are some things that happened in 2021 that were happier moments:
America got rid of some trash in January, which I count as a good thing.
The internet shitposting memes this year were choice, and the cold Bernie memes were top tier.

Sandra finished her cancer treatments in February and kicked that shit to the curb <3 Her health has been gradually improving this year. <3

Did you know my Dad and I share the same birthday March 28th? In 2021 he turned 75, and I turned 47. We got epic cakes.

Sandra and I had to move from our home of the last ten years in Tijeras, and while it made our lives hell since May, we're now almost totally unpacked and getting used to Santa Fe. It's been a bit of an adjustment, but Santa Fe is a really cool town with lots to explore. New Mexico is also just so gorgeous I can't stand it sometimes. What a wonderful place to live!

While it was sadly for my aunt's funeral, I got to go to San Diego this last summer with my Mom and brother, which hasn't happened in like... ever. It was also wonderful because I haven't seen them since 2019, and I usually see my family every year at Christmas.

We also got to spend time with our cousins, who we love and haven't seen in forever, and we got to have some beach time. How I miss the ocean <3

And while I wasn't able to do much in the way of art, I made you all some cool stuff this year, if I must say so myself ;)

Otherwise we are fortunate that neither Sandra or I caught the Covid, and we and our pets are all in (pretty) good health . The online businesses continues to do well, my patrons (YOU!) continue to support me <3 <3 <3, and we have the basic needs of life covered (except for a much needed trip to Hawaii or something LOL).
So while this last year was stressful in too many ways, and hard for a great many people, it still had its moments, small as some of them were. Sometimes even the small moments of goodness and joy are what keep you going. I will hold onto those moments when the world seems dark, and remind myself of them to find my own light again.
Here's hoping that 2022 will see more good things and small miracles in all of your lives <3
Thanks for being here with me <3 <3 <3
