From headcanons, fan stories, commissions requested for years… this rivalry is surely one of the most famous in videogame fiction. You can see it yourself on DA or anywhere else, it has always been HUGE for the FF7 community, and not only for the “fetish-ryona” part of the internet. FF7 Remake part 3 is not out yet, and you already managed to capture the best fighting scene someone could ever make. Square Enix could never create such choreography, never ever. What you did here is truly a master class of animation, render and passion. With nearly 16 minutes you created a Mona Lisa, you created a perfect video for every aspect: video quality, lights, shadows, animations, choreography, cliffhangers, some kinky elements but also what the community has always wanted: seeing Tifa actually winning a battle. You have no idea how frustrating it was to always see Tifa, a heroine with a golden heart who trained for years to fight and defend her friends, being treated like a punching bag. Tifa vs Yang, Tifa vs Chun Li… two clear examples of how bad they portrayed her, forgetting the powerhouse she really is. Not the first time Deathbattle screwed up a character, look how they treated Mikasa :( But here, in your video, we finally see what both FF7 fans and the kinky side of the community always dreamed of: Tifa in real trouble, but still standing up again and again to finally defeat her rival. You have no idea of the hype I had seeing these two going on at each other over that giant cannon. Thinking that you did all this alone in… what? 8? 9 months? It's insane. Even the most notorious studios could never deliver such epic scenes in such a little amount of time, and they have entire teams behind them. And let’s not forget… 28,344 damn frames hand animated, while enduring chronic pain. You're a hero, Kosmic. Not only for the Final Fantasy community, but also for everyone who loves fight choreographies, “what if” battles and ryona scenarios too. You really mixed it all up for everyone to enjoy, didn't you? Tifa got knocked down 6 times but she always rasied up again despite the odds. That’s what I mean when I say other creators never managed to capture her true persona. Tifa is strong, agile, fast, but what makes her special is her motivation, her will to fight for who she loves. She can fall, but as long as she has someone to protect she will always rise back up. She is far from invincible..we've seen it a against Loz, she’s young and doesn’t have the same experience of a fighter like Chun Li, but her determination is what makes her a true heroine. So thank you Kosmic, for giving justice to Tifa, a character always treated like a jobber by the community. 9:14 That bearhug you teased us for a long time… amazing. Too bad it didn’t last longer, but I totally get how hard it is to animate a bearhug frame by frame, arms placement and all. But the kiss?? I was left with my jaw dropped for quite some seconds, completely unexpected. It was really a touch of your class ;). The feeling Tifa gave me in the moment she was about to get crushed was priceless: when she stood up looking straight into Scarlet’s eyes, she knew she was in trouble, but she embraced the bearhug without resistance, like she accepted her fate. The fact that she knew her body was about to be crushed. The facial expressions were amazing,. And yet… even trapped, she kept staring into Scarlet’s eyes, like a challenge, like saying: “you may crush me, defeat me, but you’ll never break my spirit”. A true testament of resilience against the incarnation of domination and sadism that Scarlet represents in FF7. 10:09 You can’t convince me that wasn’t a RDR2 reference XD. But still, yet such a beautiful scene ngl. There are so many scenes I could talk about. This fight really felt like Liquid Ocelot vs Solid Snake, full of memorable moments. Every camera angle, every shift of perspective, every frame was a masterclass. Wanna talk about the close ups after 8:10 ? That felt like watching a movie. I'm glad to havea 4k monitor to admire every single sweat you poured into this animation. Right after that it's such a beautiful moment of defiance from Tifa, like she knew she messed up by provoking Scarlet but it was worth the beating, right? XD At 10:36 I was like “ok Tifa, you gave everything, it’s over, time to rest in peace”. I mean, with Scarlet dragging her by the hair it looked totally done… BUT NO! You surprised us all, making Tifa rise one more time after Scarlet mentioned “conquering” Cloud. Biggest mistake ever: it awakened Tifa’s warrior heart. Even then she still took hard hits, but managed to defeat Scarlet with her superior martial arts. And then… Scarlet comes back AGAIN! The finale made me go crazy, I didn’t know who was going to fall from those stairs, I had goosebumps. In the end, Scarlet’s arrogance and ego became her downfall. Honestly, Square Enix should really take notes from you, Kosmic. This fight is too important to be just a simple slapoff scene. In the Remake we already saw Barret, Cloud and Tifa being broadcasted live on Shinra TV while attacking a reactor to make everyone see them under a bad light. Now imagine if Shinra did the same thing here, recording and showing Tifa vs Scarlet live on all the big screens in Midgar. Scarlet, the face of Shinra’s military power, beating Tifa again and again in front of everyone, trying to humiliate her and prove that Avalanche is weak, confident in Scarlet's dominance. But here is the truth. Scarlet can dominate Tifa’s body, but she will never dominate her spirit. And that is the real heart of Tifa Lockhart. Just picture it. Marle, the old woman who took care of Tifa in the slums, Marlene, the little girl who sees Tifa as a sister, Johnny with his silly but honest love for her, and all the other people who care about Tifa. They are all watching, terrified, seeing Tifa getting beaten by Scarlet's punches, crushed in that bearhug, knocked down multiple times, dragged by the hair..broken. They'd feel the pain with her, they suffer and cry because they love her but they would never give up on cheering for her. And then as Tifa stands up again, full of bruises, with her top almost reduced to shreds, but still looking Scarlet straight in the eyes, refusing to stay down.. that moment would make everybody cheer even harder. The slums, Avalanche, her friends, even normal people in Midgar who are tired of Shinra, everyone would be shouting her name. Because in that moment they know Tifa is not only fighting for herself, but for all of them, a symbol of hope against sheer dominance. She is their hope, their fighter, their heroine. If Square Enix ever does this fight, this is how it should be. Not a short slap exchange, but an epic battle full of emotion, where Scarlet throws all her cruelty but Tifa proves that she will always rise again. Your animation already gave me this feeling, Kosmic. You did what Square Enix could never achieve. You made this rivalry into something legendary, something that feels bigger than a simple fight.. the epilogue to a legendary rivalry. Im curious about the alternative endings, what will you include or add to it.. will you cut the part where they're fighting on that ladder, like will Tifa be defeated in hand to hand combat? (maybe including more beating to her abs? :33) No idea, whatever you have stored, it will be legendary nonetheles. Thank you again, Kosmic. You made it all possible despite what you've been suffering. I really hope you can find a treatment or a cure tha will help you out or even cure what you're going through. I almost teared up when I've read the "See you guys, somewhere someday". It's sad to watch your departure but you totally earned it. I remember over a year ago when I discovered your channel, your patreon. There was your poll/suggestion and I was one of them pushing for a Tifa vs Scarlet video.. I could never imagine it turning into such a masterpiece. The hype was worth every single second of this amazing fight, you really surpassed your limits with this one. The amount of work behind it.. just amazing. Kudos to Scarlet's VA as well, she was amazing, she captured her role perfectly. Thanks again Kosmic, it's been a beautiful wait. Thanks for making Tifa vs Scarlet possible. Now rest brother, you earned it.
