Comments

Yea I think we are going to call it an Attack Check... and then let people call it an Attack Roll, which wouldnt be too confusing, but at least the GAME SYSTEm will be consistent :P

Alan Bjorkgren

Love the feedback Malachi! YES we are 100% moving to a "Tier" description for armor! Definitively feels better!

Alan Bjorkgren

"Attack Check", it is just inertia/nostalgia, for a newcomer it would be a no-brainer if they see everything that involves a d20 is a "check".

Ivan Smith

Couldn't make the live stream, but some comments to your questions at the end. Attack Roll vs Attack Check: I think many people are use to the phrasing "Attack Roll", but maybe try renaming all d20 rolls. Like using Attempt- Skill Attempt, Save Attempt, Attack Attempt, Spell Attempt. Whenever you make a d20 Attempt. Armor Names: I think using Tiers is Better, then have a short description for each Tier. Light Armor Tier 1: Padded clothing to protect vital organs. Ex: Gambeson, Arming Doublet. LA T2: Usually Boiled, hardened, and crafted leather armor. Ex. Leather Lamellar LA T3: Simple overlapping sheets of metal. Ex Laminar, Scale Mail Heavy Armor Tier 1: Tightly woven metal armor, either chains or plates. Ex: Chainmail, Brigandine HA T2: Large Sheets of metal mainly protecting the torso. Ex: Breastplate, Cuirass HA T3: Metal Armor covering the entire body. Ex. Full Set of Plate Armor
