This last week was unfortunately not the most productive for me, so we’re still a little bit away from getting v3.3 to alpha and beta, but I do have some progress on the new items from the recent patreon poll!
Firstly, the Skeleton key is coming together, although there’s nothing to show off visually yet. It starts with 3 charges, and can go up to 8 from levelling up, charges regenerate over time and can be spent in ll the ways I mentioned previously: unlocking and locking doors, unlocking containers, and creating temporary door-like barriers similarly to +1 wall of light.
Mainly I need to polish up these various functions and implement some extra details, such as a full levelling mechanic (probably based on regular key usage), curse mechanic, and functionality for dealing with excess keys if the player opens enough things with the skeleton key instead.
One item that is fully ready to show off (the functionality that is, it’s sprite is very much unfinished) is the cracked spyglass! This trinket will spawn an average of 0.375/0.75/1.125/1.5 extra items each floor, but these items will be quite hard to see indeed! Each item has its opacity reduced to just 15%, just about the opacity of an ebony mimic. Here’s an example, in this GIF there are at least 2 hidden items in each scene, can you find them all?
