V3.0 Diedown | Patreon Weekly #300

Hey Patrons! Despite the big #300, I’ve not got a lot to report this week. Things have been fairly quiet for me following the release of v3.0.

Also, one thing to note regarding weekly dates. Previously the Patreon’s anniversary would very closely coincide to these weekly milestone numbers, but increasingly that isn’t the case. We’re now approaching 6 years (how times flies) and so now instead of just being a couple of weeks off, the 6th year anniversary won’t hit until around mid May. I do plan to do a special weekly for that anniversary, but I think as they become more and more separate these milestone numbers will just be regular weeklies.

V3.0 Patches

I’ve spent a lot of the last few days sleeping to be honest. A mix of pushing to get v3.0 out and also various personal obligations have made February a pretty stressful month, so I’m taking it easy for a bit while the update settles.

Of course I am keeping up with emails still, and lots of reports have been coming in. I expect v3.0.1 (and probably v3.0.2) will fix lots of little bugs, and probably try to clear through some of my big list of smaller suggestions/fixes. As Shattered betas have become more and more popular it’s become unnecessary to do quick followup patches though, so I’m in no rush to get these out right away.

Another big thing coming is translation updates, especialyl to Shattered’s store pages. The longer staggered nature of v3.0’s release meant that lots of translations lagged behind a bit, and now that some time has passed several of them are caught up. This is especially important for the game’s store listings, which are currently outdated and inaccurate in most languages. While not as strictly tied to patch releases, I’m also starting to experiment with refreshes to graphical store assets too. I’ve already replaced usages of the old title and splash arts in most cases, and soon will be trying out a new trailer and screenshots.

Finally, after some more time passes I’ll take an initial look into balance for the Cleric and the majorly changed trinkets. I don’t expect to make any real mechanical changes in v3.0, but some number shifts are likely.
