16 New Cursed Wand Effects! | Patreon Weekly #272

Hey Patrons, in this weekly I’m going to share details on the implementation of some new cursed wand effects!

And to go along with that, Here are the results from Patreon Poll #56!

This poll had really high positivity overall, with over half the options passing 50% of votes! Based on this I’ll be adding the top 8 choices, which nicely works out to 4 rare and 4 very rare effects.

Alpha When?

Firstly, real quick, the alpha for v2.5.0 is very, very close! I’ve got a few more tiny refinements to add, and expect it’ll be able to get an alpha out to you guys on Wednesday or Thursday.

Even More Cursed Wand Effects!

As I mentioned in the recent poll, I’m adding a bunch of cursed wand effects in v2.5.0. The poll post goes over rare and very rare effects, but I’m also designing and adding 4 common and 4 uncommon effects too!

For common effects, I’m adding random wand zaps, random area effects (fire, frost, or electricity), ooze centered on the caster, and bubbles! The bubble effect is entirely cosmetic, shooting a jet of harmless bubbles at the target location, which will then cause bubbles to persist around that area for a few seconds.

For uncommon effects, There’s a geyser of water, sheep spawning, levitation, and an alarm sound. I’m also replacing the current shock and recharge effect with a more traditional lightning bolt, although it’ll still grant some recharging as well.

Also, while I’ve already explained how the very rare supernova effect will work generally, you might be interested in seeing it in action. The effect does a LOT of damage to anything that gets caught in the blast.
