Two More Trinkets | Patreon Weekly #251

Crystals and Moss

As I mentioned last weekly, I spent a lot of time moving last week. After a particularly stressful Thursday, all the big stuff has now been brought over to the new place, and all that’s left is some tidying up. With the move, getting sick, and my dad’s knee all out of the way, I am really looking forward to future months being a bit less eventful. Despite the move eating a lot of time, I did still manage to implement two more trinkets this week!

Firstly, the exotic crystals affect the random potions and scrolls you find throughout the dungeon, turning some of them into their exotic equivalents. This increases the average value of your loot (especially in terms of alchemical energy), but the exotic effects might not always be the ones you want. It’s worth noting that this does not affect scrolls of upgrade, potions of strength, or items generated to help you solve hazard rooms.

Secondly, the mossy clump increases the chance of finding both water and grass in the dungeon. Every dungeon floor that would otherwise be normal has a chance to be watery or full of grass instead. At +3 this will affect every dungeon floor that would otherwise be normal. This lets certain builds access favorable terrain a lot more often, but I expect lots of people will also value the clump for the increased seed and dew drops.
