Closing in on the Beta | Patreon Weekly #192

Hey Patrons, apologies for the slight delay! It’s a slightly short weekly this week, but the beta for v2.0 will be out very soon!

Also, there’s a poll running this week! In this poll I’m looking for some feedback on potentially changing the Duelists third armor ability.

Last Little Details

Most of last week was spent on some additional bugfixes and the implementation of elemental strike.

Since Friday last week elemental strike has been available to use for Alpha players, and it seems to be doing quite well, with few if any bugs reported. With that done all that’s left is a few smaller fixes and some visual improvements to the Duelist herself. I’m pretty confident I’ll be ready for a beta release on Wednesday.

I’ve also snuck in a few more bugfixes and small QoL improvements over the last week:

One of those is a change to levitation and chasms. Previously an action that would result in a chasm fall due to levitation ending wouldn’t give any warning. Now the usual chasm warning window pops up when levitation is about to end. This should heavily reduce situations like pathfinder-caused chasm falls.

I’ve also managed to fix a long-standing bug with the text renderer, which often popped up in talent descriptions. When the game highlights some text in a text block, it must consider that text to be a separate text object, as its colored differently. This is fine in most cases, as text is already split based on spaces and newlines anyway, but it can cause problems if something like a period after a word isn’t highlighted. This could lead to things like a period showing up on its own in a new line. I’ve now added some logic to handle this and keep highlighted and plain text grouped, even though they are technically different text objects.
