I’ve got some more updates about the Steam version and demo this week, including some early access codes!
The Demo is Ready!
Since last weekly I have finished up implementing the new demo functionality and the core desktop UI, so we’re all ready for the demo to become generally available on the 10th! The only two things I’d like to try and get done before then are tooltips when the player hovers over buttons, and improved screenshots on the game’s store page.
If you’d like to try the game out before that time though, I’m now giving out codes to every Patron who asks! Please reply here or send me a message on Patreon or Discord and I’ll send you an early access code for the demo on Steam.
Where we’re at on Desktop Features
Since the last blog post, I’ve implemented the following features:
- Full streamlining of item interactions around the new inventory pane. All (or almost all) item-based interface interaction should occur down there now. Let me know if I’ve missed any.
- Numbers in the buff indicators instead of visual fading. This should give a much more precise picture of how long buffs/debuffs last for.
- Lots of fixes for various bugs, and security notarizing for macOS users (an extremely tedious process that Apple mandates).
I’m going to try and get these done before Feb 10th:
- Tooltips when the player hovers their mouse over various buttons. These are especially important as they should really help with interface tutorialization and will let the player know what the game’s keybinds are without having to dig into the settings.
- Six quickslots in the new desktop ui. I’ll also try to add these into the mobile UI as well. I’m going to hold off on more than 6 for now though.
- Better screenshots on the game’s store listing, as they currently don’t use the new desktop UI.
- Various small tweaks to interface elements. For example, the game should have a quit button in the main menu if its being played on desktop.
And I might implement some of these, or I may decide to put some of them off until 1.3 or 1.2 patches, in order to get moving on v1.2 content faster:
- Basic controller support, such as using an analog stick to move around and binding keybinds to controller buttons.
- Right-click menus, which will let the player more quickly select item actions and do secondary environment interactions like examining.
- Better enemy detail on the top-left corner, including little health bars and buff indicators.
- Better keyboard support, including more keybinds and full keyboard interface navigation.
- Better controller support, including full interface navigation with controllers.
I’m going to try to spend some time on concepting for actual v1.2.0 content this week, so hopefully I’ll have some details to share on that next weekly, as we begin to move toward game content instead of just more desktop features.

YES! Gamepad would be great to make sure it eventually gets the Steam Deck approved mark too! :-)
