What’s Left of v1.1.0 | Patreon Weekly #125

Hey Patrons!

Firstly, this weekly has the third audio summary/Q&A! This one’s a little longer (partly due to having a few more questions, thanks!), and hopefully future ones will be similarly close to the 30 minute mark. For the rest of this weekly, now that I’m properly getting back into working on v1.1.0, let’s summarize what’s left to do on it.

To-Do for v1.1.0

Let’s run down the remaining things to do in v1.1.0, roughly in order of priority. It’s worth noting that new music is also slated for v1.1.0, but that’s already complete and so isn’t mentioned here.

Most importantly, there are the Core System Changesthat still need to be implemented. As already discussed, this includes changing a bunch of recipes to work based on energy, letting the player make more energy by sacrificing items, adjusting the alchemy UI around this, and any other related tweaks. In particular I’m mulling over the idea of having alchemical energy just be an item the player can carry with them.

There are also still several Changes to Existing Recipes that need to be made. I’m done with most of the exotic scrolls/potions, but there are still a few left. After that, I want to make some changes to the less appreciated elixirs, brews, and spells as well.

Here’s one of those changes finished up, the Scroll of Siren’s Song (formerly affection), which permanently makes one enemy into an ally:

And here’s the particle effect I’m currently working on for the Scroll of Challenge. Staying inside the effect gives the hero a buff:

Then there are a couple New Recipes to add as well, from Patreon Poll #21. This includes summon elemental, and possibly teleketic grab, frostfire brew, or elixir of fortune.

Then there are various Technical Changes.  Firstly, I want to get native desktop builds of the game working in v1.1.0, as I mentioned in a recent weekly. Then there’s the usual round of balance tweaks, with specific attention paid to hero armor abilities. Lastly there are a few bugfixes left to make as well, though many of them are already done.

Finally, there is some Other Content Changes which I need to work on too. Primarily there’s the rework to the Master Thieves’ Armband. This content needs to happen reasonably soon but isn’t as strongly tied to v1.1.0 specifically, so I may choose to delay it a little longer in order to get v1.1.0 ready sooner.
