Pin Glitter | Patreon Weekly #85

Pin Glitter | Patreon Weekly #85

Hey Patrons!

Based on the poll from last weekly, it seems that Saturday evening is the best day for you guys, so for now we’ll be having our new Q&A livestreams at 8pm EDT on Saturday, January 23rd! As before, you can ask any questions you’d like answered here, or on the dedicated channel in the Patreon discord!

Speaking of Q&As, I was actually recently featured in a newsletter from the Indian Society for Technical Education. You can view the questions and answers Here. Feel free to ask follow up questions to anything mentioned in the newsletter if you’d like!

Patreon Poll #13 has also concluded, and there’s enough to talk about here that I’m giving that its own section:

Enamel Pin Poll Results

Here are the results of Poll #13:

Thin Border, Identical Corners:            22% Support
Thin Border, Proportional Corners:
39% Support
Thick Border, Identical Corners:
11% Support
Thick Border, Proportional Corners:
50% Support
There was an obvious preference for proportional corners, but thicker borders was more mildly favored. This means the pin will have thicker borders (1 pixel wide, just like the crack), and corners that are more rounded on two of the pins edges.

Soft Enamel:     28% Support
Hard Enamel:    72% Support
There was a strong preference for hard enamel so I’ll be going with that, not much else to mention here!

With Glitter:         50% Support
Without Glitter:  50% Support
And here’s the one I wanted to talk about, folks were split right down the middle on glitter! I’m going to look into a way to satisfy both camps here. Options might include letting people pick from either a glitter or regular pin, or perhaps offering a glitter version of the pin for 2-year patrons! This will partly come down to whether the manufacturer I end up using will be willing to do an order with some glitter and some regular, or if they will have to be separate orders (which will be much more expensive =S).

More Talents!

Lastly, dev progress on 0.9.2 continues! I’ve now fully implemented the structure for T3 talents, as well as a bunch of smaller odds and ends. There are some aspects of the update’s changes to subclass design I haven’t hammered out yet, but I am continuing to make progress on filling out individual talent ideas, here are two of those, each with an emphasis on giving a subclass some new interaction potential:

(Just as before, these are still WIP and subject to change)

Battlemage:
+1: Striking with his staff grants the Battlemage 1 turn of artifact recharging
+2: Striking with his staff grants the Battlemage 1.5 turns of artifact recharging

This one gives the battlemage some artifact interaction potential on top of his existing synergy potential with wands.

Berserker:
+1: Enchantments on the Berserker's weapon trigger more often the more rage he has. To a maximum of 25% more often at 100% rage
+2: Enchantments on the Berserker's weapon trigger more often the more rage he has. To a maximum of 40% more often at 100% rage

For this one I’m deepening the benefit the berserker gets on his weapon when he has high rage, but in a way that grants something other than raw damage. This should give the berserker some interesting enchantment synergy potential, something that was previously only an option for the Gladiator.

I’ve got a bunch more talents in concepting as well, but they aren’t quite ready to be shown off yet.

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it!
