[Update] // May 2020 - Events, Grins and Speed Animations

Good morning peeps~ :)

Hope ya'll are feeling good today~ As for me, it's another busy week in my metaphorical office working-from-home, surviving on the limited amount of groceries I have left. But I'm surviving... For now o_o;;

Time is a precious thing we should never waste, so let's just jump right into it, shall we?

[ Working on Talk Animations and Expressions ]

One of the bigger things that will be different from the full release compared to the Flash Beta is that our Girls will be voiced (decided by you guys!). So that means we got a lot of animation work in our future. Specifically "talking" and "expression" animations that will really sell the audio.

I'm thinking I'm just gonna hop right in and grind the hell out of all the animations, and maybe I can get a time-lapse for you guys so you can see all the progress.

In preparation of that work, I took a short step back from the project and practiced some facial animation work. Here's some of that work!

With these two practice pieces, I wanted to really hone the animation process so it would speed up the (unbelievably tedious) grind.

The grinning animation took me about 4.5hrs~ to do just for one facial expression... So imagine all the expressions we'll need for twelve waifus.... Yeah it's a lot of work!

What gives me hope here is that we've got a good bulk of the animation preparation ready to go so with a little luck, we can get through this all in one piece~ :)

The other big addition is that Random Events are finally in! As one of the original features that didn't make it into the Flash Beta, this one's a long time coming. This mechanic is a bit experimental on how it works at the moment, so I foresee some balancing in the future. But it is here for now.
