1980s movie suggestions!

Every week, there will be a post asking for movie suggestions from a different decade!

Only 1 movie suggestion per person, if you suggest two, both will be disqualified. Similarly to previous posts, please ❤ every comment that contains a movie that you want to vote for. PLEASE LIMIT YOUR COMMENT TO ONLY MENTION 1 MOVIE. Also, movies that are suggested a second time will only count as 1 vote (so if two people suggest the same movie and both comments get 8 votes, it will only count as 9 votes (the comment with the most votes + 1 for the extra suggestion)).

For these posts, the top 4 movies will be put on a poll on YouTube (YT only allows a maximum of 4 options). I will determine the top 4 comments the following Tuesday when the next post is up.

I ask that you please limit the runtime of the movies to 3h (I've seen that there are some movies that are longer, and I am not up for that monumental task quite yet).

For this post, please suggest movies that were released between 1980-1989 inclusively. Any genre goes!

Next Tuesday, there will be a post for 1990s, the Tuesday after that for 2000s, etc. The poll for the decade will be up on YouTube the following Tuesday evening or Wednesday at the latest.

I feel like there's a better way to do this kind of suggestion/voting, but I'm not too sure what that is. I'm open for suggestions!

A wonderful choice sir. The uncut version is the best way to experience Das Boot. But that is over four hours, so that's not going to happen. It'd have to be the Director's Cut which is three and a half hours. Theatrical cut is too barebones for my liking. Das Boot and Downfall are must see films.

You’re really putting me in a tough spot here Vero. I’m an 80’s kid. I have a ton of favorite movies from this decade. Picking only one is not going to be easy. But if I have to, here’s my pick. Or at least one of them……Beverly Hills Cop (1984).
