I wish chandeliers was bigger or had more energy but I also understand a softer song to lay it down gently. Overall it is a good album but putting the best songs as singles are always gambles. Judgement day was a nice NIN/ deftones surprise. possibly a new 2025 metalcore trend bc silent planet also made a song with that style . We got over BMTH amo, and this too is a sign of change for architects. Their last album took almost 2 years to grow on me but it’s very much a change of style that you either like or get jaded by

I think the biggest issue people are running into is they just want old architects. Youre never getting that again. I think whats stranger is other bands literally do this exact style of music and this type of progression with their sound without any sort of hate.

Absolutely everything that they're known for isn't even remotely present here. I always used to rate Sam as the best in the genre, cleans and all. Yet not once on this album do we hear any of that and not to mention the lyrics are pure fluff. I came to them to feel something, now there's nothing even there to feel.

Definitely overproduced at moments. Honestly, we arent ever getting AOGHAU again. And at this point I have accepted that. I enjoy these songs for what the are: Heavy head bangers in the style of Architects without any of the substance they used to have. Fun to listen to, not fun to analyze. There is just nothing to look for past the first listen. Nothing to pay attention to. I think I personally enjoyed the non singles more than the singles, at least most of them. Evil Eyes, Elegy, and Chandelier are all better than all of the singles IMO.

Preston Bates

Based takes honestly. I think I like some of the singles a little more than you, but I agree with pretty much everything you said in the review. To go from where they came from with LF/LT, AOGHAU, FTTWTE, to now this.. there's honestly no comparison. As you said it's a good album but it has nothing to say. Also putting Seeing Red not just on this album, but as the penultimate song is a crime, it should just be a throwaway single

I personally really liked the album, but I understand and agree with most of the criticisms, they just don't seem to affect me as much as I've seen them impact other peoples' enjoyment of these songs. my main complaint about this album is probably the production, and I think that this album would benefit tremendously from being produced by someone not named jordan fish

Aleega

Agreed about the vocal tuning. It's honestly to the point where I question the integrity of Sam's performance, and that's not a knock on him. More a knock on the vocal melody choices that he can't naturally reach, no doubt influenced by Fish. Good producers make their artists sound like them. Great producers make their artists sound like the best version of themselves. I loved Jordan's work in BMTH, but he's falling victim to the former big time with Architects and Poppy IMO.

I can tell a few things in this reaction. 1. You thoroughly gave this album a chance. 2. You do not want to come across as a hater so you are trying to “fish” for any good or fun this album has. 3. If you don’t like something that is ok and people need to accept that! You provide genuine reactions and that is 100% better than fake ones. Thank you for the reaction, and hopefully people can respect someone else’s opinions for once
